The quest for passenger ride complete.
Couple of weeks wait and a five and a half hour bus trip to Hastings during school holidays (bad plan). A ride into some wind and rain later. Here it is the M109R
Nine years old and in fairly good condition but most importantly cheap.
Came with loud pipe (very loud) and factory pannier kit which will save me needing the spend. Touring seats also so the wife will be happy.
Had to spend some time cleaning and ordered a new set of tyres. Tyres are not cheap but the originals are almost dead. Shop says fifteen to twenty thousand km a set which will be unusual and no chain to worry about.
First impression. Not as heavy as I was expecting and not as bad handing as expected either.
Rides nicely at almost legal speeds but not a bike to push too hard into a corner and you want to get lines sorted well prior.
Pegs scrape to let you know you it has limits and those limits are basically early.
Acceleration is fairly good for a 350kg bike and the torque seems to be everywhere.
Give it a handful from standing start and it feels like its wanting to twist itself into a circle.
Heated hand grips helped with the cold and rain on the way home.
It had a givi screen which is now removed but idd likely install it for a trip as it works ok but im not keen on the look.
Took a while to get some clean back on it.
Here it is.
