...at a rough guess I'd say they were a pair of 28mm Mikunis...circa '70's...
...dunno that that should be so...I found a set of Mikuni 32 or 34 , or whatever the T500 had as standard, made my XV750 work exceptionally well... the venturis were an easy 125 or 150 long, then pods... and after a little bit of fucking with jetting, they made it hum...s'cuse the pun, but it's a suck it and see thing...
Beg to differ. They do - just not very sophisticated ones. About the same as a Mk1 Amal Concentric.
General rule of thumb using on fourstrokes is the bigger the cylinder, the better the results. They need high gas speed to function well.
I'd only use one of your pair on a 741. The last guy I knew who put twin carbs on a 741 blew it to bits.
Remove the intake restrictions and let it rev - and it'll blow
Good to see you back
I dont think they come any less sophisticated than the lack of holes the other than the top and bottom.
Sure they can work i have a set off a 2t (IT175 i think or maybe PE175)on the CB, but not as well as a set designed for a 4t would.
The 2t ones also tend to have far to large hoods on the top as well.
