Sadly though, public perception of the police is not just formed from what people see and hear and read in the media, the personal contact with plod in all manner of things for some is more than enough to confirm what they see etc........I agree with SPB it is worrying that the police are not trusted, lets hope that they start working really hard to change the current opinion that many share about them

Police, or any profession for that matter, are simply their own ambassadors. Though some professions are difficult to pretty up when there is a job to be done. An Executioner springs to mind along with dog catchers and many other jobs that we need but would rather not see.
