cool. next time we will have to show you round our local roads. Some not bad ones on the doorstep here. I am always pleased to see a spread out pace where all bikes can find a place in the queue without the feeling someone is being left behind (except when everyone left the 9 behind) I never set my tripmeter for a change so I dont know my milage for the day but it felt great.

The only thing I hate about telling people to ride at their own pace is that very very often it translates to "you are slow and dont have the skill level to keep up with the real men"

    what happened to your gps??

what i like about the (few) groups i've been out with so far is that ego's seemed to be non-existent....and thats how it should be imho

i'm at the slower end of the spectrum i reckon (probably only done 20000kms ever on bikes so still plenty of learning to do) but im just happy to be out there with a group (HEEEEEAPS more fun than riding by yourself) and the nice thing is the attitude i see from everyone is about being there and having fun, not "im faster than you ya big pussy" - no one cares who gets there first, just that you're there!

    its all good

I didnt put it on.I felt a bit lazy in the morning and it seemed like so much effort....

That is what ashhurst rides are all about. Riding at own pace without egos. They have kinda surpassed being labelled as learner rides although some of our group ride are tame enough to be learner rides... others are not. Its all about having fun on the day.

Bring on the next one. Really busy this weekend but might just see what happens.

could get her to come out on the back of the 9. One of 2 things could happen.

    1. She will love it and make you buy a bigger bike.

    or

    2. She will be shite scared and you sill never be allowed to ride again......

well the lil RZ made it home before it died again .. (no lights) .. I have never been so sore or shattered .. sorry for being stress bunny - but was really worried bike was not gonna make it home & I was so tired after fighting the bike for the first part of the trip, & after stopping really crashed out .. thanks Ant for not letting me fall of the bike when we stopped .. cause I am sure we would have just gone over ..

enjoyed the roads after the first pub stop. great open roads .. not much traffic .. sighs that was nice

definately showing my noob status that would have to have been the biggest ride to date .. but glad to hear others are just as shattered .. thought that was my inexperience showing

Betsy is booked in for surgery tomorrow .. checked all the wires, fuses today could not find anything wrong - U4ea & I went for a quick blat to pram, no lights or ypvs all the way down or home ... & she is definately sluggish without it .. since i dunna have a speedo she is tapped out around 6.5 thou revs .. normally easily does 8

anyhow got back home .. parked in front of garage .. turned off .. thought hmmm turned on & presto .. everything works

so my question becomes ... is there a loose connection or a short ... or is the battery discharging while not running .. & taking quite a few ks to charge again .. ?? anyone help with that one ??

Sounds like a loose connection, which may require the removal of the seat and tank to find. Especially if there are no obvious visible signs on first inspection. Is the battery driving the lights, indicators without the engine running now?

yeah it is .. (just went & checked) .. but prob by morning again it will be dead .. which is why i am wondering if after running & recharging the battery is why its all of a sudden working
