Well, I'm glad there are people out there like you, that will intervene if need be... I'd hate to get beaten up on the street like that, coz I couldn't punch to save myself, but, apprently, my slap is better... so dunno *shrug*
I had a friend, in Taranaki, who saw something suspicious going on in a car at a lookout... went up to the car and hello, a guy trying to rape his ex gf and then probably murder her or take her away... they'd had a domestic and broken up, but they guy just couldn't let go... fortunately, my friend had his gf in his car too... so while my friend was restraining (aka beating the sh!t out of him) his gf was calming the girl down, giving her support, until the cops arrived. It was all over the news, however, my friend remained nameless. I'm so glad, there is people out there like yourselves will wont take no bullsh!t and will help us girls out if needed.
I remember coming across a fight after school one day.. I was the only one out of a bunch of girls and guys to intervene. I nearly got punched myself, but after the boys realised there was a "girl" involved, they stepped down a bit and allowed me to drag one of them across the street where they could only yell abuse to each other (by god they were big too!!) while, eventually, my friends who were with me, managed to calm the other one down. Problem solved. No harm done. I did end up with a bruise, but nothing major. I threatened to ring the cops too, in which one of them jumped on his bike and went home.

You did the right thing, whether you thought she was worth it or not.
Her reaction is a very common one unfortunately. She'd been told it was her fault and that getting the bash was punishment and she deserved it. When you jump in she still believes it and tries to protect the scummy piece of crap that was beating the snot out of her and now she also believes that him getting the shit beaten out of him is also her fault. No win situation unfortunately. But at least you get a say in where the beating is directed eh.

I reckon you did the right thing too. You weren't to know what sort of person SHE was, she might have been a total stranger to the basher and could have saved her life, you might have done that anyway, even though she was, shall we say, ungrateful.
If that had been my daughter I'd be forever in your debt and I'm glad you have the physical wherewithal and the balls to step in when you see the need. Calling the cops is probably the right thing to do but if that woman had been an 'innocent party' she might have been dead before they got there.
Top action. Good on you.
Pat, pat.
I reckon you did right. You didnt know how it was going to turn out. You make the the best decision you can with the facts you have at the time, and live with it. Full marks for not looking the other way:

Nah mate, you did the right thing. I would have done exactly the same. I dont care what the circumstances...males do not beat females like that. I am surprised at her bitchy attitude. But at least you stopped the situation.
Nail your colours to the mast that all may look upon them and know who you are.
It takes a big man to cry...and an even bigger man to laugh at that man.
You did the right thing! Fuckem - arseholes beating up women in the street is a no no - a beating is a beating!
The bike gear night slow you down but I've wondered what effect a nice pair of armoured gloves has on someone else.........

I also think you did the right thing .. & even if she seems ungrateful, its nice to know there are guys out there who will intervene in abusive situations
Have toKarma ... Justice catches up eventually !!
I could hardly believe what you were saying last night dude!
You know you did the right thing, I would have stopped and tried to save her if only with a verbal attack and calling the police.
Hope your knee's not too sore!

Om nom nom.
I would have done something similar if i saw that happening in public (i did once as a matter of fact and in Hamiltown) but i would have just pulled over, lifted the visor and said ''Dude!....screw her mate, doesn't hurt as much''..and rode off before he got me....![]()
Nightclub in Hamilton...early 80's....called Lady H...saw a fuckwit beating a chic down an alley...called for my then mate..Big Fucker was Gav'...and when i turned around all i saw as a size 9 fist heading in the general direction of my nose....Gav got him and the Bouncers joined too....while i watched on...![]()
I'm old, got old values. No man ever hits a any woman. For any reason. No man stands by and let's it happen either, no matter how equiped he is to deal with it. Not negotiable. There's no law or reason that would've mede me do any different. Good job mate, thanks.
I understand, and to a degree agree with you.
But what happens if as a result of your actions, she gets hurt more?
You can't rush fists first into any situation.
I'd get in the way of the guy. And stop him from hurting the said lady, I would not fight back, I'd take the punishment he deals out to me and try to calm him down. First I'd call the cops and make sure they are on the way.
I wouldnt want what he would do on my consience.
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot
No offence RM, but you are out of your ferkin mind if you think that will work! You would end up with getting the shit kicked out of you by both of them, seriously.
Good on you though Chris, only sorry I wasn't there to join in and cover your back mate. Glad you got to 'test' the gloves mate, sorry to hear you hurt yourself on a piece of shit like that.
