Come on Si. You know as well as I do Frosty is trying to draw the pre-op drugs out as long as possible!!

3rd hospital and still waiting? It's pretty poor Auckland DHB. Spend more on patients and less on ads about the weather... or traffic or whatever is the ads are about... Kick their arse Frosty.

I'm reminded on the "Search for the Holy Grail" - Monty Python... the Black Knight "No arms? HA! Tis but a flesh wound! I shall kick you into submission...."
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

The story goes. Went to Taupo horspiddle and as a couple of others discovered their xray staff were on strike so he stayed there for observation as he had wacked his scone rather hard. Next stop Middlemore where they took xrays and said...thats not too good we will operate 10.30am tomorrow (thats this morning). BUT WAIT theres more. Suddenly the beuracracy kicked in and said he was outside the Middlemore catchment and would have to go to North Shore. So 6.30am this morning in a big white bus with flashy lights on the top off to Noreth Shore with arrival time of 7.30am.

I have just got back from North Shore where you guessed it! He is still in the A&E waiting room...12 hours later. No beds they say - Id like to no how come theres no beds when there is heaps of laundry. So it looks like he may be there for a few days.

He showed me the xrays and thats an impressive dislocation and I can understand how it would have hurt when they shoved that puppy back in place.

He also has a lovely crack . KIDDING alright he has a couple of cracked bones.

So the update is hes still waiting, waiting, waiting. And the irony is that today is a year to the day he tried to take the chain from the Taupo pits because he thought it would make a lovely necklace
cheers for the update MadDuck..... much appreciated.

I'm sure they will find him a bed, somewhere, real soon in the hospital.
Especially if he starts to race the bed up and down the ward.

ouch! Sorry to hear about that Frosty. I still owe you a clutch lever, so if yours is broken I'll give you mine. Unfortunately I don't have any spare wrists to lend you... so make sure you get yours fixed up nicely.

WHAT. A. FUCKING. SHOWER. OF. SHIT.

Just got back from NS hospital - I'm only down the road so I dropped into see if he needed anything.

Frosty had his off on Sunday afternoon. He hasn't slept since as he hasn't been in a bed, and is now in his 3rd hospital STILL FUCKING WAITING TO BE SEEN. He's currently sitting in the A&E waiting room in a CHAIR, wondering if a bed will come free. That almost certainly won't be tonight, his second night since the off.

If he gets seen tomorrow morning it'll be a minor miracle. 48 hours. Words fail me.

Taupo hospital need fucking reaming for discharging him: 'hand hanging off sir? Never mind, see your GP in a day or two if it isn't growing back into place by itself. Don't worry about your neck pain or that bump on the head. If we ignore them, they'll probably go away. Maybe.'

Who has the approiate interests though?

Nurses and Docs? No - they don't control budget.

Those in charge of the hospitals? No - they have the limitations imposed on them from above.

Min of Health it is... and (as usual) Govt. What would hurt them? Bad press ... or (more specifically) ammo for the Opposition Spokesman of Health. Attack them where it hurts, just prior to election time. Want more money? Make them hurt when they're vulnerable.

    There is no Opposition.

The NZ "Public" screwed the last election up so badly they got the Government they deserved and effectively destroyed any hope of an organised Opposition. For goodness sake people get out there and LEARN how to make MMP work for you.

Find a friendly German to explain to you how you might have to vote for a party that seems to be diametrically opposed to your personal politics to get a Coalition Government in power that creates a Political environment that empowers your political views in the macro sense, and provides the scope to enable the activation of issues based "task groups" within the scop of Parliamentary Politics to support your personal issues. You might have to "trade" a constituent MP for a Party vote. At least try and put some THOUGHT into why voting for a constituent MP and that constituent MP's party is actually a BAD idea.

Somebody take Frosty some bottled water. Hospital water tastes funny.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

Words, and as it happens, actions, have failed me today too. I am beyond describing my frustration.

But...it IS in fact, the politics, and the funding that lead to this.....(appropriate adjective anyone?). My advice? Dont get sick.
And by the way - dont we have some kind of big budget surplus???
