    Hello chaps and chapesses.
Hope you had a great day, should be back from the hot pools now though.
Thanks for a warm introduction to our first KB meet, it won't be the last.
It was great for the pair of us to have conversations that weren't with each other, (cruel as that sounds), and I will extend my apologies in case I offended/annoyed/pissed off anyone, don't recall doing it though.
We got back and went for a walk down to the Taupo Thermal Spa, a lovely hot stream running into the river, and that wrote off any idea of coming back for the evenoing, it knocked the pair of us for six.
So, plan now is to curl up and tune into the MotoGP. Sad isn't it, I'll do anything to kill the time til theXJR arrives.
Have safe rides home, catch you again peeps.
    Steve and Haze.

Hi All, a special thanks to all those on the gathering at Turangi, we had a great weekend and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, just a magic day saterday around the western access rd, and to all those who helped keep my speeds down to the limit!!! "Ya failed" just who was that lass that said "I cruise at 110-120" Wouldnt be QC would it, and Chancyy, it aint any wonder you dont have a speedo, ya wouldnt believe the thing if you saw it anyhow :-) LOL anyhoo, it was a pleasure meeting you all in the flesh, and hope to see you on another KB'er run, We shot back via Taupo, 15min stop, then onto Tokoroa to drop in on some friends, 15min stop, then on to cambridge, through the back to Gordonton-Taupiri and straight on to the shore at 12:00.( mostly dry roads) hope you didnt head west cause it looked real foggy and damp over there... a heap HP's on the road but managed to duck in behind where it mattered :-)

The Qkkies made it back in one piece

    Hi All!

A huge THANKS to all who got on their bikes (or put their bike on a trailer then rode the bike later ) and made the effort to attend. Both me and Qkkid throughly enjoyed ourselves and I don't think we could of got a better bunch of riders if we tried! All the way from a RZ350 up to a Boulevard 1500 we had bikes of all sizes but all the riders were rather worthy of their motorcycle licenses. I didn't see or hear of any bad riding so a big too everyone for riding safe but for also for enjoying themselves. (we know why too - Bennydale to Whakamaru )

6 of us had a rather rapid trip home via Western Access through the back roads to Cambridge, had lunch then out through Scottsman Valley then out to Morrinsville then to Tahuna making our way back to the main highway just north of Huntly (Ohinewai). Managed to dodge most of the showers, had a bit of fog before Lake Arapuni but the roads weren't too bad. Nice and quiet, bugger all traffic. In the end I think me and Qkkid did in excess of 1200 over the three days.

During the week I hope to post up a ride report detailing what/how/why/where on the KB Gathering. NADROJ could we perhaps have a sample of some of those awesome pics you took?

For those who were asking - YES there will be another Gathering, same time, same place for 2008. Lets make this an annual event!

Umm... Yeah, like what they said. An excellent weekend thanks to the QKies being the ones to get off their proverbials and organise it for us.

I cannot believe none of us got stopped by any tax collectors. There were a couple of funny moments on Sunday tho when QKKID and I thought we saw one in the distance.

Once again cheers to the QKies and to everyone I met at the gathering. The rest of you soooo missed out.

Hey everyone what a great weekend, loved every minute of it!!!! Great to put a few faces to names

Had an awsome weekend, probally some of the best licence unfriendly(at times only) riding (I beleave a saw a 2 on my spedo a couple of times and it had two digits after it) undertaken in almost every weather condition, and I loved every minute of it

Thanks to everyone that made the effort you guys and girls made it great

Look foward to doing it all again next year

For the record Qkkid was in my bed, not the other way round

well it sure was worth the wait ... the weather pretty much played the part when it counted .. excellent company .. only a weeeeee bit of alcohol drunk ... one very late nite ... or early morning .. ahhh the things that make awesome weekends

again thanks to the qk's .. will definately book this weekend for next yr ..

yesterdays ride was awesome, very well organised, great communication & quick catch ups on the way kept everyone in the loop ..set off in the sunshine ..but did not take long to find the fog, great chance to stop & have a coffee food stop while it lifted ... that was some of the most excellent roads i have ridden in my weeeeee short riding life .. LOL seriously would love to do it in the dry. Can honestly say after doing the ride right ride safe course my riding is much smoother & cornering is not freaking me out like it used too .. (thanks for the advice from the qks .. was meat in sandwich for a wee min or two .. following dawn & watched her .. but had steve up my arse & he could easily see what I needed to do to corner even better ...... & it works thanks guys had a wee practice again today .. hehehehe )

after lunch 6 of us decided to cut straight down the western access to get back & have a wee snooze (after the very late nite) & this was absolute fun .. nadrog & pritch 008 headed off into the sunset .. that left 4 of us & we followed Julia on a nice easy pace & was a great cruise home, thoughly enjoyed that bit of road ...

(ohh yeah that benneydale road .. farken noice ohh it sure helps having no speedo .. but noice to see the Boulevard 1500 in my rear vision mirror .. I might not have a speedo .. but at least i do have mirrors )

well after having a 18 hour day on sat ... combined with quite a bit of JD's & 4 hours sleep it was a pretty early nite last nite ....

Since 86 & I had trailered the bikes up ... (rescue vehicle .. truely), no hurry to get home today & a nice weee flick to the ski feild .. & a few scenic points on the way home ..photos to follow ... loaded up the bikes & trekked home .. 3 cops on dessert road but they did not seem interested in a bighorn trailering 2 bikes

thanks to 86 for the excellent company as always & for driving my tired ass up there on sat (who else could I be cheeky too )
Quicks for putting the weekend together
& to everyone else for being a great bunch of friendly ppl who turned up ... see you all next yr for sure
