Mate, if you're a mother at home looking after the kids for XX years while the husband is building up a career and you split up, you end up with kids half the time and NO career eh. Its not always fair for everyone sometime eh dude.

Sorry to hear about your cook leaving mate .
My ex got the house & everything in it, the car & the kids . I got some rubbish bags with my clothes in them , Child support & all the bills she couldn't pay.
She used her half share in the business we owned to send it under then claimed that she was entitled to half its value from before we split.... I had to pay her that too even though she had sunk it. The money for that came from my 'share' of the house we owned.
She used to send the kids over in rags so I would go buy them new clothes.
IRD's child support is staffed by nazi's ..... probably lesbian ones they are obnoxious at best & have no problem sending you a bill for thousands then phoning you to tell you they are TAKING it from your bank account wether or not you dispute the amount.
Some I know have had their bank accounts stripped then got the phone call from IRD after the event... To make it worse it is all legal . nothing you can do about it except take the ky jelly with you cos they will definatley do you over.

I feel sorry for your lawyers man, they didn't write the law, they don't deserve the grief.
Not so, since 2004 automatic equal shared custody without going to Court.

Property, Law changed from 'Matrimonial Property' to 'Relationship Property' which is actually better....say you owned a business before meeting this is not necessarily relationship property.

    hows this for shit...

My brother in law owned a house, then he met a chick, fell in love, she moved in bla bla, they decide to rent the first house out, and build a big new one, then they split.
They sell the new house and split the proceeds, and she takes half the value of the house HE ALREADY OWNED as well.
A couple of years go by, he moves to another city, and buys a house there, whilst retaining the very first house as a rental.
He and the chick recocile, and get married, and buy stuff togeather, including a few rentals here and there, then divorce this time for good, she takes everything, plus half of the value of the propertys INCLUDING HALF OF THE VALUE OF THE VERY FIRST HOUSE THAT SHE HAD ALREADY GOT HALF OF IN THE FIRST SPLIT, how fuct is that....

I pleased that when I split with my ex, we had nothing, we were that poor, i just packed up my ute and my bikes and walked away, she did likewise, It took years to sort the bills though
    Yes I know my enemies
They're the teachers who taught me to fight me....

It's chicks like those that gives nice girls a bad name....frankly, I have absolutely NO patience for anyone who would do such things.
I got very happily remarried in January this year and I did offer my fiance to organise a pre nup as he has more assets than me (no pun intended!).
He turned down the offer, but he knows and so do I, that there is no way I would do anything like what you guys are talking about....

You're either a decent human being, or you're not...

That's a two-way street. One in which the other lane is MUCH more well-travelled.
It is a pity that people do this sort of shit to their kids, as well as each other. Kinda forces people to develop a distinct lack of trust in others, for years/ever.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Heres one from the other side of the fence. My mum split from an abusive husband (My stepdad) earlier this year. She came into the marridge with everything, he came in with nothing. They used her house as security to buy another house, a 42ft launch and set up a successful business. Now all my mum wants out of it is her house ($500000), he gets other house ($150000), boat ($250000) and business ($150000), but is still wanting more. So when she said split everything then, he backed up fast. The idiot bastard even wanted all my antiques from my grandparents on my fathers side and split the money from them, plus other stuff belonging to my brothers. He's dragging the whole prcess out now when all my mum wants is to move on. So it's not only the guys who get screwed over.
"I came into this game for the action, the excitement... go anywhere, travel light,... get in, get out,... wherever there's trouble, a man alone... Now they got the whole country sectioned off; you can't make a move without a form."

Paved roads are just another example of wasted tax payer dollars.

In theory, maybe. In practice, another load of BS!
Sheesh, my son has been fighting to get access one weekend in two, no matter what the court says, his ex still does exactly as she pleases, and has no qualms about using the kids as emotional blackmail!
