Of the four top-rated choices so far, only Takaka is likely to be endurable due to the little fuckers. I realise this is going to brand me as a softie - but being eaten alive by tiny flies is going to have some impact upon how much I'll enjoy sitting around a paddock drinking booze and talking bullshit.
    Don't worry
Shrek and I fought bravely and after Shrek realigned the cannon (see pic) were able to fight off the big beasties.
Put helmets on and visors down and beat a hasty retreat before the hungry blighters could regroup.

P.S. Would not let Shrek take cannon home, so that others could use it!

Well the poll closes tomorrow, and if you have voted you will see that the results make Nelson Lakes 1st choice, followed by Blackball & Haast a close
    2nd.
Now while that may seem democratic, the real test is whether any of those sites are suitable for our needs, and this is up to our self appointed organisers "Shrek, Mrs Shrek & Subike" who appear to have put their hands up to help.
We have been spoilt with our last 3 events which have just got better & better, but our expectations should not keep rising or we will end up staying @ sanitised motels with noise limits & other restrictions etc.

We need a camp to ourselves, accommodation for 40-60 approx, & $ per night @ the lower end $20 - $30pp.
    Thanks Shrekkies

Blackball is out coz the accom is too $$$$ 1st hotel 55pp pn B&B 2nd Hotel $20pp pn & the hall would have to be hired for the hole W/E & the community centre is another building & then there is the domain for tents in another area

all in all to spread out & to $$$$ would also allow the local D/H's to rockup

there is a camp ground at charleston but may have to share with Tourist's so there would be some resrictions waiting on a reply

at the moment Kopara has what we want & the Bar prices an't bad eva

Yes, sitting around in the baking sun, covered in DEET, drinking booze, etc. Sounds about right for us motorcyclists who have absolutely no regard for our own safety. Guess I'll have to bring a burka then
