Ads like these (and I've only really caught the one with the jetboat in it's entirety, for research purposes) only serve to make me more determined not to buy as there's clearly no merit in the product or service so they're just marketing it on "It's new - buy it and be cool!" factor. Basically their approach doesn't even register on my purchasing decision matrix. Fortunately for them there are plenty of lemmings for whom it is.
If it wasn't for a concise set of rules, we might have to resort to common sense!

That and the SHIT load of complaints about how bad the actual network is to date.

Telescum can eat a pile of monkey nuts. The shit they have pulled over the years is more than enough for me to take all of our business away from them!

To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. I not so long ago moved 3 businesses & 3 residential homes away from them.

They can die horribly in a chemical fire as far as I am concerned

Cheeky fuckers the lot of em!

Missus stopped in at Vodafone to ask if she could recieve and send txts while in Oz. "Yes no problem" was the reply.
Interestingly, she was bombarded with txts from Vodafone throughout our stay, at her cost of course. I think they were $1 something each.

I've sent a text to my husband from work which is an hours drive away at 7pm at night, got home at 10pm and while sitting down eating my long-awaited dinner at 10.15pm, he gets my text!

    Yes.
They were all over the airport, including on the air bridges.
Telecoont must've spent a fortune on advertising.
If their network and services and prices were really good, they could've just used viral advertising or word of mouth.

That balrdy jet boat ad REALLY pisses me off. WTF does it prove?!?
"Look - I can take a really long time to send a picture, while a jet sprint boat blasts around in the background. And even though it's really slow, I'm still finished before the jet boat goes past". SO?!?!?
I finished typing that sentence before someone, somewhere in the world finished having breakfast/a wank/a dump/lunch/[insert other totally unrelated event here].

IF ONLY the jetboat had showered The Hamster with muddy water at the end, instead of some other guy, there would've been at least some entertainment value.
Or they could have just had the jetboat on its own.

Pointless. Annoying. Bound to make people LESS likely to sign up for XT.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

The thing is.... they are probably pretty happy it's annoying people enough to talk about it. Either way, it's generating interest and they've achieved something. Proof advertising works, good or bad!

For me the Proof is in the volume of incremental business it generates, indexed against the expenditure, and whether they could do better by not alienating potential consumers with the fluff.

This campaign seems to infer I am as smart as a lettuce. Maybe that's the target market.

While we're at it - I believe, Toyota, that I would like the fat ginga, the one with the wobbly moobs and the illegal flying fox, I would like him to careen into the pylons of his illegally constructed invasion of other people's privacy. Wobble wobble wobble - SPLAT.

Just enough to knock some sense into the fuckin' idiot. No wonder the kid is such a wimp.
