    3 am? IF such a time really does exist (and I am not convinced that it does) then as long as I'm not doing sentry I am fine with it.

    Because when it was at the Six Cross camp (near the summit of the Desert Road) it was a lot colder. Always got ice there and sometimes snow. Cold enough to freeze contact lens solution.

    The current site is tropical in comparison.

    Even penguins refuse to go to six cross camp. Amazing how 20K's change of location makes a difference. Mind you Shrek, apart from 20mins snow at the Brass this year, the Brass has not been cold for for many a year.

    Bikes almost all packed and I will be taking the long route....all the way from Taumarunui...hahahahah. Weather looks good..hope so anyway, my old camping bones don't like the cold floors anymore

    Just heard from one of organizes that tis will be biggest turnout by far in 35year history if cold kiwi. They sold lot of tickets.

    Got mine yesterday - It's got #670 on it.

    How many pay at gate vs prepay? Are we looking at over 1000 entries?

    This could be the 2nd biggest bike rally I've been to in the last year.

    They obviously aren't giving them things out in order then! I only sent my entry in late last week.
