a little bit of trivia for the substation one.In satelite view of google maps I traced a line of high voltage lines from haywards up towards waikanae....you can see the pylons and sometimes the wires themselves!.I gae uo when i couldnt replicate the view and realised the pylon was a different shape.
That was no good.So then i tried a web search for Substation near Paraparaumu,and came up with some dry old document where"Paraparaumu Substation is fed from Takapau Road"(Dont forget I dont know where the substation is)
So i then traced the pylons and wires from Takapau to Valley Road and then could see the substation in satelite view on google maps.Then street view showed devos shot almost exactly.I was sure snr would beat me to it but i was keen to get out on the bike.It was the only tag from the weekend i could actually find.
So there is some trivia for ya,when you turn on the lights tonight in Paraparaumu,you know the flow of electrons comes via Takapau Road!
