So it is time to put on rides for a slower group again. I am happy to do that when I get my weekends back as I like a slower pace from time to time. As Dale said, simple is good. So everything is easy as, when we establish the slower group again and get all the people who want to cruise riding together. We will do joint rides with both groups in time as we have done in the past. Everything is good. However I am on a ride with another group this weekend so can’t plan a ride for the slower group from K/B. Maybe next weekend……
Have to make these slower rides on saturdays as i work sundays. Next problem is i cant go for huge rides on saturday as the partner has a moan if i dont spend time with her since its the only day we both have off. I can see some real priority juggling coming up for myself (and possibly quite a bit of sweet talking).

She got gear? Can always find a (legal) pillion seat, you know.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Not yet, shes very scared of motorbikes in general, but planning to get helmet and gears in next few months and im going to start easing her into it next year (middle of summer etc). Besides that I'd rather she didnt come along anyway as my motorbike is 'my time' and dont really want to spoil that all the time.

You have a good attitude and you are prepared to learn. That’s fantastic. However I can tell you, as I have ridden the 07 Gixxer at some speed to the rev limiter, hope W is not reading this, that it will get you outa nearly any shit you get in to on the road. Other than oil, shingle etc. Even then it will work for you. They corner like magnets and handle like race bikes. That’s cos they are…….. If you look at the place you want to go they will take you there. This comment is not to make you go faster but to give you confidence that the bike will look after you should you find yourself in a situation. Hang on and look at the escape rout and you WILL ride out of trouble. They are a magic bike…….

Yeah i understand this bike was made to be able to do all that, i just cant pull up the confidence on it to go flying through the corners, my reason/(possibly excuse) is it doesnt feel 'like a magnet' going around the corners because im fairly certain that the suspension isnt set up for my weight (im 78ishkgs) and the guy before me was around 100kgs.

You may see now why i really want to get this suspension sorted before i start really leaning over etc.

No it doesn't, when you want a fast ride, go with mates that are comfortable with that speed and if its cruisy then others will be fine aswell. No one likes to get left behind on a group ride?

Yeah since putting the yoshi on ive taken off the rear pegs.

But she made me buy a pillion seat as she plans to hop on. So looks like ive got 6 months max before the pegs get chucked back on.

It really did look very unloved. Specially as it was next to the R1 that the whole crowd wanted to look at. Gixxer 4 ever
