Very sobering indeed, and now things are better for an entire country. Can't express enough sorrow, and gratitude.

Good luck for tomorrow Kari! Grub would be so proud of you. Will also be thinking about you tomorrow. (And maybe see you on the telly).

Same from Gabby and I Kari.
Its such a shame so much shambles was done at that time.

In a perverted way I notice the fire department was sent to secure the scene once Grub was pronounced dead. They should have been sent to the call centre instead!

    Inquest today

Keep an eye out for TV One tonite, as they attended the inquest into Bretts death (along with dominion)

The coroner was compassionate, and did a very good job of drilling down to what mistakes were made by the central region comms for St John.

Kari did an outstanding job & really cut to the chase several times the police prosecutor had very high praise after the session, stated that Kari was a strong, determined woman and thanks to her, lessons will be learnt, Bretts death will mean something.

Th coroner apologised to Kari as she will reserve her decision as she wants more info from St Johns before she delivers her findings, however she has also indicated that some scathing remarks will be forthcoming and for some parties to be prepared ..

Well done Kari, you have done yourself, Brett and the biking community proud ..

Well I just watched that item on the news. Seems like there will be some seriously concrete good that comes from Bretts death. Thank you Chanceyy for being there with Nasty. We await the coronors findings with interest.

thanks for being with her, chanceyy... wish i could have been there as well.
    kari... well done chick.
i finally worked out last night why it had to be brett instead of someone else... no one elses death would have changed the way things are done and gone on to save lives.
i forgot to watch channel one, so does anyone have a link to the article? and i will check tomorrows dom as well.

Yes I do think that it is a good result for many and would say that it is unusual to have such a public admission of failure.

My wife works for Healthline and she is still quite unhappy when an ambulance is required for remote and rural destinations. Some homes don't have an actual address and the owners don't know their emergency coordinates number.

Let's hope things start moving in the right direction. Your hard work will eventually result in the benefit for many.

    Well done.

As many others have said all along this journey Kari - your strength and determination to see changes made is absolutely awe inspiring. You are one tough lady and I thank you for the effort you have gone to to help ensure that others should not be let down by emergency services in future.

    Good on you girl
