No wonder ACC picked on the two wheeled fraternity, it is so full of divisions, divide and conquer is only one word here!

"Conquer", division is a given, can't miss says ACC, hit it Nick she's a goer!

Yeah .... I would see Scooters as a "sub type" ..... rather than "off topic" ...

But there are no other reasonable scooter forum sites in NZ .... are there ?? ... Here .... we at least can chat to each other about scooter stuff ... etc.

I ain't going to loose sleep over it. I was a bike rider first ... then got into scoots. I just enjoy riding ....

When SCOOTERS pay $750 a year registration ... we will be equal as motorcyclists ... ACC made the divisions.

Perhaps ACC ought to see the "riding gear" of the average scooterist. They may well bump up their levies too if they do ....

Scooter fees are going up too....do you not read? Yep riding gear of a lot leaves much to be desired but its only the helmet that is the legal requirement.....but I do agree with you on that point

Obviously you have succumbed to ACC's wont and have accepted the $750:00 as a badge of "rank" in the two wheeled world! Well done that man!

Not to $750 (or the same percent increase in fees) ... The same legal requirement re: clothing worn ... applies to ALL motorcyclists.

All motorized vehicles either scooter, moped or 1400 v-twin cruiser car or bus should all share the overal accidents on the road equally...

I have nothing against scooters, but they need to pay the same as the rest, have nothing against mopeds but they pay the same as every one else and they need a wof and should not be on a car license.

the only legal requirement for any motorbike or scooter is a helmet. the jackets, pants, boots and gloves are chosen to be worn or not by the rider. they are not law, no matter what some riders may think.
