    Why all the hype?

over the last couple of weeks i have noticed a heighten level of excitement from lots of different people....

    in all walks of life....

my question to one and all is

    why all the hype??

sure we are entitled to a couple of days off, some have to go to work during the few days between Xmass and new year..

but hey, at the end of the day, it really is only a few days off...

i am personal getting a bit nervous about the racing i am going to in Taupo, nervous about, hoping that i do not forget to pack anything (list will be made as soon as i have finished this)

am not looking forward to the trip up and back ( in the van)

    but apart from that....

    why all the hype?

on the 25th i am going to see my mum... but that not special, i saw her a couple of weeks ago... yes she is still alive... and i think she still will be in a couple of days...

a special time for me is... anytime i spend with my friends
no hype involved, just a nice smile and a raised glass or two... and a good ride thrown in ...

    so..why all the hype??

    what a ride so far!!!!

    Hype?!?!

I get a mounting sense of dread as the festering season approaches.
If it was purely a religious festival, it wouldn't be so bad (there'd be no hype).

I blame the Mrkns: it was much more low-key afore they got into it and Coca-cola-ised it.

    I yam the Xmas Grinch.

I even escaped the orofice yesterday for an hour to avoid the company 'Secret Satan' and mince pie / cheap sparkling wine debacle. It was great! Went for a walk around the block, ended up getting a migraine, and sat in the shade under a palm tree till it went away and I could see again. And lo! While I was sitting under the palm tree, an angel of the Lord demon appeared unto me, and said, "Yay and verily (forsooth!): you are an arsehole, and you'll have to make up the time on your timesheet, you slacker!"

Hey! Look at me! I'm on KiwiBiker! (My boss isn't here yet, so I can be naughty, plus I don't give a crap)
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

    Hype?
    There's been Hype??

    Shit how'd I miss that?

heh well I have to admit to some excitement over all the time off work (don't go back till the 18th) and all the play time this gives me.
But other than that, the emotionally charged Christian/retail load of bollocks gets ignored by me and has been ignored since I was a kid.
The (dis)honorable Nick Smith, when you speak all I can hear is
BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!! BULLSHIT!!
So please fuck off and die.

No, that's me. I've even sent people lumps of coal this year
It's only when you take the piss out of a partially shaved wookie with an overactive 'me' gene and stapled on piss flaps that it becomes a problem.
