Somewhere on KB there is probably a similar thread about sprotsbike riders having an ego and attitude and who when passed by a Harley rider flip the bird and feel obliged to overtake the Harley etc etc.
But who really cares?![]()

Don't worry about it. If you stopped somewhere later on and ended up talking to them some way or other, you might find they took the whole thing as a bit of a joke. Flippin' the bird doesn't mean "we want to kill you", rather some informal mock disapproval. Swinging the chain from the ammo box means "we want to kill you."
Also be aware, while the pack of harleys is sometimes not particularly quick on the open road, they do not delay through heavy traffic.
It's when a pack of 50 of them leave their opposing lane and swerve at your group of learner riders - then you have grounds for complaint.

"I am a licenced motorcycle instructor, I agree with dangerousbastard, no point in repeating what he said."
"read what Steve says. He's right."
"What Steve said pretty much summed it up."
"I did axactly as you said and it worked...!!"
"Wow, Great advise there DB."
WTB: Hyosung bikes or going or not.
The last rude arse I encountered riding on the road was a Hog patch wearer on a V-rod.
The three biggest knob jockeys before him were on sprotsbikes.
But then some of the most solid dudes I know ride Harleys or Triumphs or Sportsbikes and are in Hog or Rat or some other group.
As I always say - hate the player - not the game.

Have you not alienated yourself from enough people at work, you need to work on one of the few that has stuck up for you most of the time so far? Or is it that you just can’t stop thinking of me on your holiday. Yes I am new to riding, and still have a lot to learn, but no I am not gay (not sure what fantasies you have been having, but please leave me out of them).
Sorry but I have more important things to do with my time off, than reply to your off topic ranting, so you will be on my ignore list from now on.
Sorry to everyone else for my off topic ranting.
Now I really am a Bonnie girl
About Harley riders in general, I think their time was back in the ol'e days, you know when 'the wild ones' came out. And all the jocks with the slick hair back like grease or the Fonz in the school car park on the panhead Harley with the Dolly Partons in their groups gossiping with the school books held tightly against their chest and the sweaters over. The "rebel to society, I'm doing your mother" thing going on.
Being a youth I think Harley's could be back in, if media made some movies on them or having celebrities sport them. I asked guys in college ages ago that if they could buy a motorcycle what one would they ride. They all said a Harley "with the big handlebars loud exhaust" and cruise around NZ mostly because they say "they dont want to die" with sport bikes. But still I was surprised there's a lot of new recruits for you Big Dave, sadly as life goes by I doubt they would get a motorcycle.
Fact is too Deano - a lot of people ride Harleys simply because they are nice road bikes.
Wot 'e sed.
It sits for some time (winter) without getting used much but when it does it covers a fair bit of ground without sucking too much fuel or carving out tyre too quickly and doesn't leave me knackered at the end of the day, it also corners and stops in a most satisfactory manner for my (nana) style of riding.
It is also 'traditional' in styling which is what I want (and not covered in bling) and most of the 'bits' one needs to get at are fairly easy to get at.
Not saying it's THE best bike - but it is for MY needs/expectations.

Not about just HD riders - but gang members
A mate and I a year ago went from Hamilton to the South Island, left hamilton about 7pm, quick stop in Levin for diner then down to the ferry terminal in Wellywind, got there about 11:30
A bunch of hard core bikers turn up with outcasts written all over their backs on big iron noise. Got chatting and turns out they left Hamilton that evening as well - at 5pm, one stop for diner and were only just rockin up at 12. They were knackered from having their arms out holding onto those stupid hangers, faces windburned from the open face helmets
I guess that's the price you pay for an Image
Like wise we knew a guy who toured the North Island on his R1, use to take him a while to bend his knees straight again and stand up. But he looked good on his sprot bike
Lifes Just one big ride - buckle up or hang on
