If she never knows - she'll never care.
How is what Paul Henry said ever REALLY going to affect her??
Probably no more than calling you skinny would affect you.
(Not saying what he said is what I would have said or particularly agree with - just being Devils Advocate here..)

" Life is not a rehearsal, it's as happy or miserable as you want to make it"
No, she never will hear, unless someone points it out to her. But how many intellectually disabled people to whatever degree are watching some smug fuckwit while they're eating their beakfast calling people callous names?
Frankly, I hope Susan Boyle tours New Zealand. Then her promoter can book her a publicity spot on Henry's crap show. What's the bet ol' four eyes is sick that day?
People in general, but particularly in the public eye, need to think a little bit about what their comments may mean and who they might affect.

I thought the column was excellent but some of the comments were obviously made by people who live sheltered lives.
It would seem to me lately that people have decided that they are going to use the phrase "PC" to justify saying anything rude or offensive without feeling any guilt at all. The more demoralising bit is the number of people who think being offensive in ALL situations is just funny.
In my mind there are three levels: pc, normal and offensive. As an example, to a "pc" person, another person might be called vertically challenged, a normal person might call them short and an offensive person might call them a ratty midget etc.
Based on that example I am all for not being "pc" but I would also not choose the offensive line either.
Obviously Henry never heard of the concept that once you become an example to others, there also comes a responsibility to make sure you're a good example.

TVNZ upholds complaints about Henry's 'retarded' crack
TVNZ has upheld complaints about Breakfast presenter Paul Henry's description of singer Susan Boyle as "retarded".
The broadcaster's complaints committee upheld the complaints about the remarks made on November 23, on the grounds of good taste and decency.
Complaints relating to other standards under the Free to Air Television Code of Broadcasting Practice were not upheld.
The complaint was laid after Henry quoted from a magazine article that said Boyle suffered a mild intellectual impairment.
He then joked about it and said that she was "retarded".
TVNZ said Henry told the committee in a statement that he never intended to offend people with disabilities.
"I am sorry that some people have taken what I said in a way that I never intended," he said.
"In fact, I have a great amount of respect for people who rise to the challenges imposed on them in life. The amount of support and coverage I, and the programmes I'm associated with, give to these issues is evidence of the commitment we have to these people, their families and friends."
However, the committee said the language used would have caused offence to a significant number of users and breached the relevant standard.
"There is a legitimate place for Paul Henry's boundary-pushing style and sense of humour in broadcasting," TVNZ news and current affairs head Anthony Flannery said.
"It should also be remembered that in 600 hours of live television each year there have been very few times when he has overstepped the mark.
"However, we acknowledge that this was one such occasion, and we apologise to those who were hurt and distressed by it."

Sounds like a genuine apology to me
I stopped listening to radio in mornings as the self serving hosts pissed me off and now watch the PH show most mornings. I have yet to be offended. If the show was PC I wouldn't watch it.
This statement amuses me:
"However, the committee said the language used would have caused offence to a significant number of users and breached the relevant standard." I doubt if the people who would be offended would watch the PH show - so there, is anyone offended by that?
Here for the ride.
Paul Henry is my hero!!!
Loved that show when he used to destroy the hostess of the show. Some Lady called Dawson.

and I do not care what any of you retards think!!!![]()
Intersting comments by Henry on this.
1 He's sorry not for what he has said but for the way other people
2 who have taken in a way (what Henry said) that I never intended. (So how do you call someone a retard in a way that they are not a retard?? )
Jeez I consider myself pretty good with words but that's got me stumped.
As for the second para all that needs to be said is................ moustache .
