A similar thing happened not too many years ago at Teretonga. White flag displayed while Haldane led Rees, next lap they crossed the line and Haldane had an onboard lap timer, counting correctly according to the alloted race laps, having seen the white flag concluded the race had been run, although he hadn't seen the chequered flag. Rees kept at it and by the time Haldane opened the throttle agian it was too late to catch Rees. The race went to Rees...

A plausible explination then in that case, is that the flag man was in fact Homer Simpson.

Everyone is going, Spyda ya bastard, dont start bob raving again.
NO Spyda, i wasnt there, because the number of rounds for sidecars was altered & we had to can our tickets because if Tracey had gone down south for three weeks people would have drowned at the dentist, due to the fact that there would have been nobody there to suck the spit out of their throats with the sucky thing.

Same thing happened at Ruapuna, they ran 16 laps, my pitboard said id done 15 and i could hardly see the flag cause of the rain, i slowed but could see Robbie and James still goin flat out i looked behind and saw andrew with his head down so i figured i better get my ass into gear for another lap!

Quite frankly.... it's just not good enough, especially this sort of carry-on for the National series.
    It's laughable

Flags and their useage can be a bastard sometimes.
I remember back in '93 at Baypark, I crossed the finish line comfortably ahead of Westie and the finish flaggie forgot to give me the white flag. He did however give Westie the white flag behind me. I continued like a crazied lunatic, and stuffed up the right hander, only for Westie to pass me. I thought, no biggie, I'll get him back in a couple of corners - still at least another lap to go. Well, I came around the last turn and low and behold - the chequered flag. I fisnished second!!! I told the finisher that I was right f@3ked off!! He said 'Tell someone who cares'!!!
Still to this day I can't believe the reply!!
Is it still beastiality if ya fuck a frozen chicken??

I think the correct action was taken when the white flag was missed and the rule to ride to the flags is an understandable option…but I do feel for Andrew, he timed the ride perfectly…and the split second he spent thinking about what was going on no doubt had something to do whit him missing that corner and getting taken………on the 16th….

Not funny is it ? As usual unless you are a fan you'd be hard pressed to know a series was on. ( TV news, nothing !) I'll still pop along to Rd 4 Manfeild, to watch nine superbikes and what was it 13 F3s ? G.

I was in christchurch over the weekend of the nationals and the TV was inundated with ads for the races and I saw several trailers with billboards advertising it on.
The crowd was quite plentiful despite the weather too.
MNZ have done a great job this year
also TV One had a crew come out for the Superbike Grand Prix.
