After overtaking on a straight, and what I consider to be safe piece of road I then lost control midway through a slow right hander and the RGV slid into a bank.
Apart from being very dirty and some pretty serious scuffing to the right side the bike is fine.
I'm sorry to the people on the ride for causing this to happen on what should have been a regular WNR.

Although I think I was fully capable of taking that particular corner at that particular speed in these particular conditions, I admit that I could easily have made some better choices that could have prevented it all together. I don't consider myself a road racer or even a quick rider, or one who pushes my own limits.
If ever I overtake you I don't mean anything by it, and I don't consider myself a better rider than you or a faster rider than you.
I think I could have made some better decisions on this ride, and I'm very glad that the decisions I did make didn't affect anyone else.
    I'm sorry team.
    Well said Andrew!!!!

Are you Ok. I mean apart from a badly bruised ego.
And remember ...... if it hasn't got one of "Uncle Flip's" prosthetic kickers it isn't a real motorbike!!!

Yes I have been wetter than I would have got tonight, but I opted for not leaving my daughter in the rain waiting for the bus instead so was too late to get to BK.

So Duvachelles next week then is it

Yeah Was still planning on coming till I woke up from having a nap at 530pm and heard the rain. Decided recovering from a head cold and cold rainy ride not the best mix.

Sorry to hear about your "off" Mcwild. smooth and slow is my policy in the rain , plus I don't follow other riders when I can avoid it, and ride like svboys nanna. Bikes are replaceable , long as your in one piece is the main thing.

Reshedule to next week sounds good, ......may have a few practise runs in between times thru..

Will give that a go FJRider. Yes, I do have a good memory but you've gained a few brownie points with the packrack and helping me fix the brakes

Hope your daughter wasn't too wet, it was really coming down later on in the evening. We'll let you off this week!

Yeah, Duvachelle next week. Please let it be nice so that I can do this run!!! *fingers crossed* I can imagine that there will be quite a few people there to see it, it's been on the card for weeks

Peetey, thank you for the DVD. Just watched it. Love the extras!!

Hey - good you're big enough to admit to yourself you're not perfect...and you don't need to apologize to me, that's for sure! Sing out if you need a hand with anything, and good you're OK . Don't let it stop you riding, eh?

Now that would be telling! Nah, don't panic as I explained in my PM! I can just see all these WNR's minds doing overtime thinking about what you put on the DVD. Get your minds out of the gutter!!!

As for the brownies you'll have to wait till the maintenance nights for them

    Thumbs up Cameras

Hey kids, just browsing round Trademe (avoiding going to bed! 5.45 am) Found a couple of really cheap cams.
They're both ones I have already and used quite alot on my bikes. Quality is fine for youtube, not outstanding by any stretch of the imagination but quite adequate for recording a ride.

    The Sanyo Xacti C1:
    http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...x?id=271884101

    The Sanyo Xacti C4:
    http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...x?id=271879713

    They're both on $1 currently!

Let me know if you're going to bid on these 'cause if you're not, I think I will so I can get a quick and cheap way of getting more camera angles.
If you do want one/them then go for it, with the right tripod/mounting setup you can have alot of fun with these.

I strapped both of these to my helmet at various points.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KcJqEFjywMo

Hung them upsidedown next to the engine:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxBbqzzuHTo
    or
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrcDueufvMc

    Strapped them to the handlebars:

    In action:

This video is a bit shakey as my front fork seals are too tight so its more bumpy than it need be. I ran the video thru a bit of stabilisation software which helped but makes it a bit blurry from time to time but you get the idea anyhoo.

So, these are currently going cheap and are a quick and easy way to get into videoing your rides.
If no one wants them, I might get them cause the price is right. If you want them then you get them, just let me know one of you is bidding on them so we don't end up in a bidding war with each other which would be silly.

I still have both these cams plus another, the next up in the family, the C5.

Like I say, you want 'em, grab 'em, especially at this price!

p.s. I'd recommend the C4 over the C1 purely 'cause you can power it from the adapter and operate it at the same time. The C1 needs a little adapter to do that.
I have the C4 powered from the bikes battery so it'll never run out, well, until my bikes battery dies which is pretty much a weekly occurrence at the mo ...

youtube search for gopro HD hero and make sure to check the HD button, amazing stuff out of such a wee unit.

pretty price but well worth it
