On some training I went on once and the instructor mentioned when anyone states "to be perfectly honest ...." then what ever they are saying is most likely to be exaggerated or a lie.

I am serious. Everything he says seems incredibly reasonable and serious to me. I have not encountered a more enlightened commentator on political issues than Mr. Clarkson.

At the end of the day it's a free world and people can say just what they feel like Finn.

To be serious then - the inclusion of "to be honest" in my original statement was an indication that I actually wasn't being completely honest. Mr. Clarkson is very entertaining, but not a political commentator.

Yep - the best opening when getting into deep-bullshitting territory.
It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)

Honestly Finn, to be honest, in all honesty, honesty is considered being honest be some.

Yeah I agree with you, to be honest.

    Top Gear Live.

    http://www.topgearlive.co.nz/

Returns this Thursday. I was a little disappointed last year (esp as I went to the Crusty Deamons the week following - which rocked!!!).

This year its bigger and they have a motoring festival which looks like it will be lots of fun. I have a mate involved with the motoring show part and apparently there will be some real car porn there - again better than last year.

Still $ short and the gap between paydays long so thought I would give it a miss this time around. A hard decision as I love topgear - but hey with a wife and kids to feed - we all have to be grown up sometimes.

But then this morning a mate called and comped me gala dinner tickets (yep - dinner hosted by Clarkson and May) and the full on VIP treatment (and a special private show).

Totallystoked (could never afford to buy those tickets). Been like a kid waiting for xmas all day - and only 3 more sleeps to go!

    wank wank wank

One word comes to mind...prick. BIG prick.

You don't deserve them since you didn't like last years effort which I thought was pretty cool! In saying that it was the first time I'd been to something like that (I don't get out much).

    Anyway, you suck!

I did like last years - I just thought that they could have done more with it - looks like this year they have made a number of changes.

    Review:

Started in the VIP area. Many, many stuck up people more interested in who was looking at them than anything else. Grabbed beer - walked out to look at cars. Saw several chicks from TV - more makeup than the avon factory. Look ok on telly - wouldn't touch 'em with Fatt Max's in real life.

Motor show - mussle cars were brilliant. Only a few Ferraris - although the old 275 was like sex on wheels - just stunning. Loved it. Other than that this part was not as good as last years. Less cars and the ones that were there were less exotic.

Into the show - wont say much about this as I dont want to give away anything so will limit it to two things:

1 - its fucken hot in there - turn on the air con for gods sake.
2 - its lots better than last years show.

Backstage pass. $20extra for 5 mins walk. Only thing back there worth looking at was the Enzo. (I could so go for one of those).

Festival - summed up in one word. shit.

Gala dinner was very good. Clarkson was a very good speaker, funny, quick witted and dosnt mind saying fuck a lot.

All in all - I was there for the show and the dinner. and I loved it. The add-ons were exactly that and it showed - but the show itself was very, very good, very professional and well worth going to - a good night out for any petrolhead - Just remember to take in a bottle of water with you.

I went to the last show of the tour. It was 80% retarded and 20% awesome. Glad i got the tickets for free would not pay to see that shit again. Got to see some awesome Ferraris at the motor show which made me happy. What didnt make me happy was people charging ridiculous prices to have a go in "simulators" which you can just play at home.
