I hope these don't come to NZ.
You can put up with slowing for the camera and then continuing however this is just too much:

Do they make money?
Then they will come.....
Opinions are like arseholes: Everybody has got one, but that doesn't mean you got to air it in public all the time....
Surely theres a shop in between that sells quality coffee.. No ride I have ever been on makes good time, coz we're always stopping, drinking coffee and talking shit.

"What Steve said pretty much summed it up."
"I did axactly as you said and it worked...!!"

Absolutely disgusting things. A few years back, on a tour of Scotland I noticed signs for average speed cameras. In my naivety I thought it meant traffic flow average, wow, realistic policing I thought. Then I received the ticket... If you sit on the speed limit & do one fast overtake your screwed.
So whats different to the one's here parked so they face the direction you are GOING ...
When life throws you a curve ... Lean into it ...
The cameras in Scotland were on gantrys over the motorway, one in each direction. I guess a lack of motorways here make's it a lot easier to fluctuate your speed below the limit & maintain a legal average. A couple of minutes behind a campervan waiting for a safe overtake would make a big difference.
They have been in Aussie ages ago targeting trucks and driver hours.
it wont stop those who are determined.. wouldn't be hard to cover you're numberplate when you go past them..
is <3 supposed to be a heart or an ass hat?
They're coming. Have a look at page 20 and 21 of the Safer Journeys Strategy. Investigate the use of point-to-point (section control) speed cameras. Not much for them to investigate in my mind.
We intend to investigate the requirements to introduce point-to-point cameras in New Zealand and possibly undertake some trials. Trials eh ? They'll be here before you know it.
's easy to fool these...go like hell until you see one coming up. Stop for a coffee for as long as it takes to fix your elapsed time. Then go like hell again. Repeat...
You hafta like coffee though. And after a bit you'll find the caffeine is increasing your between stop speeds, so you'll have to stop for longer and drink MORE coffee...vicious circle really...
