its funny isnt it............they call it a Justice system............some little arsewipe fucker totally wasting police time, gets lippy and gets pepper sprayed...........he gets a payout.............any payout should be offset against the cost of his using up police resourses by being a dickhead.Graham burton,a known violent career criminal who kills someone while on the run gets a fuckin free titanium leg and three meals a day and a roof over his head, paid for by you and me and the tax paying parents of his victim, for the rest of his days,he should have been given a real slow trip in an ambulance to the remotest of clinics in the country, and if he survives, left to spin on one leg............but hang on..............these guys are victims too they cry...........
meanwhile the true victims, for example...susan couch, panmure RSA, and in graham wank burtons case, the kirkenbaur? family have to fight tooth and nail for any recompense or justice as we know it should be

*NEWSFLASH*..........KB is a fantasy land, and you represent neither it nor the real world.

    Quoting the article:
"The judgement says the officers' use of force was "excessive and unnecessary and an abuse of power".
It also says that it "amounted to a failure to treat the plaintiff with humanity and with respect" and "breached his rights under the New Zealand Bill of Rights Act".

The coppers behaved like the thugs they claim to protect us from. Fact.

What makes you trust the NZ judicial system more than the cops? Usually the "stick it to the man" types also hate the rest of "the man", and even I hate judges

Oh bollocks. I don't know you personally, so don't take this as a personal attack. But:

As a taxpayer I employ you and your colleagues to enforce the laws of the land. I expect you to behave like a pro. Nothing more nothing less.

To turn this into a bit of a rant: One of the things I'd like to see in NZ is the typical mainland European approach to the standing of a police officer in the eyes of the law. In short it works like this: An attack on a police officer is penalised more severely than a similar assault on a common citizen. On the flipside there is a paragraph called "Abuse of official power" with which the cops can be hit in an instance like this. In most mainland euro countries, something like the case we're debating would earn the cops about 3-5 years.
When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

Well sorry to pop your bubble but in NZ you are more likely to be given a higher penalty for biffing another member of the public than if you biffed a member of the constabulary. Fact.

That's why I love the job, I get paid so much money to be punched/spat at/have genital attacked etc....

One day I'll resign and when somebody has a go at me I'll really do a number on them, hell at least it won't cost me my job!

With the way that crimminals cry and complain at how hard they've been treated and ca'nt take their own medicine, we'd have no cops left on the beat they'd all be in jail. All you'd have left is some metro fags and female pacifists too scared to deal with people who need that tough justice, as they are NOT going to come peacefully.
You'll be getting beaten by some big fulla named Solly and the little white metrosexual ballsack in a uniform will be too scared to touch him to stop him attacking you.

This is N.Z, the police and victims do'nt have rights as it is, the crimminals get all the help.. Crimminals are the only victims in N.Z according to the law.

Why oh why are we so damn caring of the crimminals. I think it would be far greater to come up with ways to better look after victims of crime, rather than so called "victims" of arrest.........

As I said, I'd be happy for stiffer penalties for attacking a cop. But with priviledge comes responsibility, hence the "abuse of official power" bit. And no, you didn't burst my bubble, there was none to be burst.

With respect. You just don't get it, do you. A crime is a crime, whether the person who commits it is wearing a hoodie or a uniform. In other words those "victims of arrest", as you put, may also be victims of a crime. At least if it was an "arrest" instead of an arrest.
