One person says that a tiger moth biplane flew under the bridge in 1931 and in 1950 a dude on a BSA rode over the arches.
a traffic cop in the 60s tried it and lost his bike in the river... that shows their ability compared to Carver
Try finding photos of their supposed achievement

In my opinion CARVER is the winner of them all by a country mile!!!

The establishment have not won simply because Jonothon paid a Fine . Carver is folk history - there is no denying that. you try naming the pilot , the rider or the traffic cop.
    Meh.
    He got his 15 minutes.
    Move on.

Swap the arrogance for humility and he may pull it off.

The video was posted on KB yesterday and on TV3 again and again and again... I wouldn't be surprised if it made Plays of the Week.

I've never been a fan of the Mormon few, never seen any of their other vids, but then I was on dial up until relatively recently. I did think though that Carver acquitted himself well on TV last night. Came across as articulate and having considered what he was doing.

The $500 is only money. The licence loss may be more of an inconvenience but he appears to be resourceful enough to get the occasional fix. Off road of course...

So... who is they?? If every car was stopped and told that the stunt was about to happen under what authority did that happen? Did it happen? If it did then I am prepared to look at things a little differently. This has never been about Carver's skill as a rider. More about the innocent people driving/walking under him on the bridge.

It was an interesting campaign though.

    I'm going to get off
    I'm going to win
    I've had a win
    I am vindicated
    I am in the right

    Then

I am going to plead GUILTY????
    I got what I deserved????

    Hmmmmm

The other comment I would make is that limited licences are by no means guaranteed. And you would be more than a little arrogant turning up to court thinking they were. Perhaps a bit of humility and contrition may go a long way to assit the application.

Round here at least truckers and contractors will have guys stopping traffic while their mates do their reversing or off loading. They don't have official authority but their actions go a long way to help safety especially as some drivers in South Auckland would be a lot safer letting ther guide dogs do the driving.

I wonder if Carver had a couple of mates in HiViz stopping traffic and pedestrains for a few minutes he might have got a few more brownie points with the law?

He should have dismissed the charges and just cautioned Carver about future activities!

Had Carver been a university student he would have been OK!

That stunt took balls and skill, Carver should be congratulated. IMHO

Clearly no fear of heights there carver.

What is it you do for a living? I assume you don't need to drive for work and that your employer does not consider this conviction and publicity of an employee as bringing them into disrepute in any way? Some (especially large) employers code of conduct cover employee activities outside of work hours.

I think carver was afraid all right but he just overcame his fears with his need to succeed!

The aftermath is all about mind over matter too, Carver doesn't mind, because his critics don't matter!

    Forever more it's, "Carver's bridge"!
