Maybe a red blotchy face with swollen eyes and a sniffy nose does it for him?

Nah, he had just smashed his beloved race car the weekend before and knew how gutted I felt.

I read it here in a post somewhere - the waving in a circle over your head thing - like a siren going round - he was warning me of a cop ahead (of me) - was actually 3 cops and a broken down truck on a sharp bend up a steep hill

Crap. I thought that meant 'do a u-turn and follow me, I'm going to the nearest pub'.

No wonder I'm rarely ever home.

I hate to be a party pooper, but it's still possible you will get a ticket (despite being a girl, and being upset and all). My niece rolled her car, and the attending cop was someone she went to school with. Several weeks later she received a ticket in the mail for careless use of a motor vehicle. It's pretty much standard in a single-vehicle crash, as is being ticketed for nose-to-tail accidents (failing to stop within half the visible distance?)
However (but!) in many/most cases it's easy enough to be discharged without conviction. Hopefully that will be the case this time, or not being ticketed at all.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Yep, I've seen this done a few times by different riders, seems to be a common signal, although I had no idea what it meant the first time I saw it. The flashing red and blue lights behind me about 20 seconds later kinda gave it away though. Didn't get ticketed, the cop told me they were randomly checking that riders on bikes over 250cc had full licenses.
