Got to go for a warrant for my bike at 11am so hope to make it by 11.30am at BK, looks ok outside weather wise so should be a good day for a ride.

    Weather looks good, I'm in.

Up Dyers and summit road to gebbies sounds good, out to LR would be ok too, back round the bays definately sounds like the go.

Maybe brickworks or speights ferrymead instead of the middle of the city?

Yep, there's a reasonable amount of loose stuff from SOK to SOB, haven't been any further than that but it's usually round most of the shady corners from there on.

Sorry but I am out. Had some surgery on my elbow on Wednesday and I just cant face being jiggled on the bike this week. Might go for a little ride by myself latter in the day but it will be a very little ride just around home.

Drop in if you are going past.

    Needle nardle noo!!!!!

You lot are a worry........... must be signs of a misspent youth?????????????????

Yes there will be a lot of grit on the road today after the snow recently. We will have to ride to the conditions and yes I HATE grit on the road, it does nasty things for my laundry and blood pressure. (Old age you know.)

    See you after 11.30

A good ride and an enjoyable time socialising afterwards. A big thanks to Retroqueen and Dangerous for taking turns leading the group of 11 or 12 bikes.

Was a great ride with you all, apart from the one scary moment on top of the summit route with bloody loose grit on a blind bend........managed to keep the shiny side up.....Anyhow great to catch up for a chin wag and lunch at the Speights Ale House.

whole heartedly agree!!! the scary moment I think was shared by one and all and the company at speights was great. Nice way to spend a winters avo.....may there be plenty more.

There was a bit of discussion about other places we could go to eat. Tai tap hotel was mentioned and I know that is quite good. also the brickworks... anyone else got any suggestions for somewhere different that might be an option along some of the routes we take. I know theres a couple of good places in lytellton but since they closed off the parking out back , those places are tricky to get at. Needs to have visible parking and lunch food. Just thought we could start a wee list to see where else we can go......

ohh yeah sorry man, didnt do the intro thing... gidday

unreal weather aye, eye a the storm maybe hey anyone remember the blue ZX9 that was parked next to me at the Kiwi? seen him on the downward side of the Kiwi on the way home, bikes well munted and a sad looking fella chatting to the coppers (nice guy knows of KB to) Im thinking as the mess was on his side of the road some arse hole hit him head on...

speaking of safety... remember please people when group riding do NOT cut across the center line on right handers... in a group its highly likely some impatient prick could be or might be trying to pass.
    cheers DD
