I think there are a few that want to...I'm even having vague thoughts about what would be required to road legal the xl.

    Anyhoo, what's on for saturday?

If it's a bit crap up on the hills after the snow, how about tunnel-bays-gebbies, little river and back for those that want to or direct to tt pub for a change if there are a few newbies not keen on too much open road? Depending on the weather of course, looking a bit crap at the moment.

Perhaps keep it short so we can get emotionally prepared and suitably attired for HOT's later on...
Riding cheap crappy old bikes badly since 1987

Crikey Helen, you're so generous with your bikes! That's very kind of you. I wonder if we could wrangle a little blat down the road on early Sat eve, maybe just before dinner, if that works for you? I'd be on my way to work and could stop by about 5.30-ish ...
Let me know, no worries if that doesn't suit ... I may be so in love by the end of the ride that I'll disappear with the bike and leave you my car and all my music gear as a trade!

Thanks Neels, I may just take you up on that.
I did have, well, my neighbour had, an XL250 years ago and rode that all over the farm. At that point I was a little too small to reach the ground but such trivial things didn't stop me. Power wise it felt to me then like HOT's 650 did last weekend, now that I'm bigger and heavier and used to larger bikes ... how things change ...

Yea yea! I'm not limiting my budget for fun you know. Even $20 is pushing the limits right now so 3k is the absolute outer limits! Would preffer under 2k but that's not really going to happen ... *sigh* Why can't people just *give* me stuff?

Understand , sometimes false economy going too cheap .......repair bills can quickly out weigh a cheap buy some times. maybe tidy up and move on one of the other 2?

You're not trying to tell me something are you?

Yep, have decided, once and for all, to sell the Katana. That's where the money is going to come from to pay for dirt bike. Was/am (hopefully) going to borrow cash off dad until I sell the Kat.
Have lots of spares to go with, including now a complete and working spare engine, carbs, electrics (coils etc), rims, sprockets and tyres. Reckon they'll help sell it. Rather, I *hope* they'll help.
Should be all up and running tomorrow if I get a good nights sleep Maybe even REG and WOF for Saturday ...

Me too, all the "fun" I've had with cheap stuff over the years is finally starting to grate just a little. I just want something that works ... Problem is I can't afford it!

Anyone have a spare rich benefactor?
