    Thumbs up Boyd Motorcycles Hamilton

Why do I buy from a dealer? (or for those who don't want to read a long post – Boyds Rock )

    Here is why.

I recently traded my bike on a new (second hand) one from Boyd's in Hamilton.
They clearly spelled out the warranty. Outside the warranty period the bike developed an oil leak.
I phoned them up and asked if we could come to some arrangement that wouldn't leave me too much out of pocket. I was told to ring back.

I did, and was told to drop the bike off and it would be sorted.

On Saturday I dropped the bike in, and while waiting to be picked up, started looking at boots for my daughter. Started trying some on, my daughter didn't like them. Troy came past and said his niece liked a certain type and he would get some (he was looking after someone else at this point as well). A couple of minutes later, he had some, they were the right size and may daughter loved them. Swipe goes the card and off we go.

Popped in this morning to pick up my bike, spoke to Troy about some boots for me. He cut me a good deal on some run out Diadora Muds and a pair of Dririder Rally cross pants.
Swipe/swipe goes the card and off I go.

I was going to buy some boots online, same with the pants.

But Boyds looked after me when there was an issue. They didn't have to. But they did, and subsequently got my business on accessories. I will also keep going back. I know you can get things cheaper on the net, and shopping round. But for me, I like to know that the guys that are here in my home town have my business. If something (price wise) is well out of whack, I will give them the chance to get close. If something isn't right, they are right there to sort it.

The DR is my first bike from Boyds. I can pretty much guarantee it won't be the last.

Thanks Greg, Glen, Troy and the rest of the Team at Boyds. Thanks to the workshop guys who did the work on the DR.

I am already lining up the next couple of purchases from Boyds.

Sure, you may pay more than a private sale (for the bike), but I reckon in the long run, it is well worth the extra.
(plus they gave me a good trade in price too and the whole deal was easily done on a rainy Saturday morning)

Warranty service on bike out of warranty – 0
    Boots for daughter – 150
    Boots for dad – 250
    Pants for dad – 100

Service from your local dealer – priceless

    Thanks Boyds!

They are my favourite store and shopping there means I never have to go thru auckland. Nicer ride from my house to hamilton too. They are like Motomail used to be when motomail actually stocked a comprehensive range in the Phil Scott days. Now Motomail is a waste of time unless you only want riding gear.

Definitely the best store in Hamilton. The others have a long way to go.

I reckon Hamilton Honda have done me well, I feel they looked after me when I bought a bike that needed a ton of work
(of course if I had bought a bike from a shop in the first place I would't have needed to then spend money on it )

I cannot compare tho as I'v never set foot in Boyd's, maybe I should go have a look.

Agree, and I've been to all of them . But as Mike said Hamilton Honda do run close.

Wysper, the next time you pop in, ask them if they still remember a crazy lady dropping off a cake and the beginning of the year for some things they sorted out? I'd be impressed if they do, but that's how good they've been for us...they got cake.

Actually, Greg has posted here. I guess though he'll be happier with this thread than the last one.

I have been into Hamilton Honda twice and they have only acknowledged my existence once. And that was because i wanted to buy something. First time i went in i didn't see anyone anywhere!

I had the same experience with Hamilton Honda. Walked around for ten minutes then spied someone way down the back chatting to a friend. Stood next to them waiting and looking expectantly for ages and they totally ignored me so I left. Was only looking to spend $400 on gear, but it went to Boyd's instead who have been helpful and given me a good price on everything I have bought.
