E before I because FEILDING is spelt that way.
MANFEILD is short for Manawatu Feilding Autocourse....

The South Is boys used to clean up at Manfeild in the old days.
Once upon a time there were two rounds at Manfeild - one normal direction, one reverse.
When it was a left - handed circuit (reverse) the Southerners cleaned up....

The problem with having a double points round at the end of the series is that machinery is tired and the budget stretched. Mechanical trouble at that round and it's the equivalent of missing two rounds - but you must do it because if you don't someone is likely to jump you in the points. Catch 22.

What's with Taupo ? Why no round there ?

When I started racing (in the 60"s a chop) its was the Manawatu Orion that run all the meetings at Manfeild and they done a great job but they also had a lot of road races in the club then, now days they are a chook chasing club but am sure they will do a sterling job and good luck to them and well done for stepping up to the plate I think it is there 100th anniversary so good luck too them

How did you get that out of the typed word???

I guess it was the way you were feeling at the time.

Oh, and most locals to Feilding hate their towns name (and things associated with it) spelt wrong....

3 rounds in South, 2 in North, the double points at Manner's (note correct spelling) evens up the Southern advantage, and it's conveniently the easiest Northern round to get to for the six fingered fella's. Will be interesting to see if they reverse it for next year.

the reality is that at nationals level, 90% of riders have riden all the tracks and there shouldn't really be bugger all advantage for anyone re track knowledge, it would generally have more to do with riding style, setup and skill.

The option is there to race at any track pretty well all year round so if you think your at a disadvantage then take an early trip south/north. Most SI nats guys do very very little racing at invercargill so its pretty well 2 - 2. so the levelling the playing field argument seems pretty weak.

Yes i have.... and I have come to accept that Craig can't spell, a big give away is that he still thinks CBR is spelt gixxer...
He can be forgiven though, as he must have skipped Englinsh to play on his bikes. (Or was that some bloke from Masterton?).
