I went for a ride out to Tai Tapu, Gebbies, round the Bays and home via Dyers Pass today, several areas flooded across the road between Tai Tapu and Gebbies.
I was water testing my new cheapy textile jacket, got home amused, dry and happy.

    Yes you just said it!!!!!!!!!!!

I take it you mean the entire summit road from Evans through to Gebbies etc!!!

Sounds ok ......... unless there is a lot of grit ........ Shall we call it HWFM's route?????

Yeah thats a good ride. Its not bad up there for grit. Definately ride to the conditions as normal though. If someone isn't confident then they can go from Evens around the bays and meet back up with us at Gebbies. Yes the ride is the whole way across the summit road. HWFM'S route sounds good to me lol

With all the grit, mud and crap on the summit road at the moment we could call it the HTFU route?

Weather's looking a bit crap out there at the moment....

But the forecast is looking not too bad for saturday and sunday

So if things turn out as predicted hopefully I can come out for a play tomorrow, now that I've adjusted from the temperature of the tropics back to the reality of christchurch

Will be taking a break this week - got to be domestic (and maybe tidy up the garage a bit too so I can *see* some of my projects, let alone work on them).

Have a good ride, everyone... keep cool til after school.
He who shall go stately at the back and not stress out.
So Gareth what was it you said about MaxF's "Funky ass curves"? - God, now I'm worried...

Just looked out to the northeast and WAHOO the sun is shining and in the shelter from the wind it is rather nice.

Then........... went round to the southern sidemy aged bones do not like the look of those clouds.

I'm going to pike for this week.

For those of you that are made of sterner stuff enjoy your ride and I will see you next week.

It's such a nice day out there.
I was on the MTB just popping out the top of Kennedys Bush on to the Summit Rd when 3 motorbikes went past.
Timing would have been about right and it looked like the KBers with I suspect Robertvi on the GN.
I would say they would be having a really nice ride as it was really nice up there.
