    You guys are about right, i got the 600 production lap record off crafar in 1990 on a cbr600 with a 1.14.3, in 1991 I got my RC30 (standard bike with slicks) around in a 1.11 and in 1993 I got my yzf750 around in 1.09's. In this first year of the extended track i got the second fastest time with a 153.7 (which would have qualified me 4th at the 2009 nationals!) Jason Mckeown on the Brittan was fastest with a 152.8.

    Cheers

    2009 Nationals was on the short track, dont think the Nats been run on the long track since the late 90's, We had a winter meeting there in 09 front 3 bikes running in the 50 second bracket I would say if they run Ntas there in the summer times would be aroun hihg 48's low 49's, I lapped 53.5 in 2006 in a 600 proddy bike in a round of the vic club winter series

    I think if Manfeild was completely resealed now guys like Sir Shirriffs etc would be able to lap in the 2s or 3s and 44s - 45s of the long track

    That bike was the Suzuki NZ owned 1100 that Rodger Freeth had sampled and set up before deciding not to ride it.
    At that Manfield meeting Bob was first into the 10's yes, but Robert on the Budget 1100 was quickest in the 2nd race making a clean sweep of records everyhere he rode it that season.
    The SI was awesome that year with three 1100's being ridden to the limit - you never really saw the best in the NI that year as Robert was being tactful at Manfield - he wanted to ride for Suzuki again and beating their bike for the title wasn't the best idea...

    What time did Aaron do on the Castrol RC45 on the long circuit when he came back and did the demo laps after finishing 2nd in wsbk. My memory was that it made the lap record look pretty sad!!!

    I'm not trying to bag anyone, just an observation. Maybe the surface is a lot worse.

    It may not have been a national round in 2009 but it was one A Stroud, amoung others, on 1000cc superbikes doing a 1.51 (check mylaps) with 180 plus hp compared to our 120 hp back in 1994, not to mention the advances in tyres and brakes.

    Did your 600 proddie bike have a standard exhaust, suspension and road tyres? I thought the last true 600 production bikes ran in the 1990-91 season. If you got a stock standard 600 around the big track in a 153.5 I take my hat off to you.

    Aaron did a 1.52.5 after only a couple of laps, however he had spent a whole day testing there earlier in the week in a toyota and a possibly a proddie bike so he had more track knowledge than we did, not to mention an hrc works bike putting out 40 more hp than us and weighting 20 kilos less.

    Times for superbikes at other tracks back then;

    Pukekohe high 59 seconds
    Baypark high 56 seconds
    Taupo 40 seconds
