Hello justaddwater, welcome to kiwibiker! Nice to have another 'mature' gentleman on the site to deal to all these younguns.

I think you're going to need to experiment with a few bikes to find the right one for you. Rather than needing a light weight bike, you will need one with a low centre of gravity. It's not so much about picking the bike up if you drop it, it's more about making sure you can balance if you are stopped on a slope with one foot on the ground, with a cross-wind!

A lot of the female riders on this site have the same sort of issues with bike weight and it really is more about distribution than total weight - and making sure you can comfortably get both feet on the ground.

Glad to hear you're getting back on the bike after such a long time. I wonder if you have set a new kiwibiker record for the longest break between rides? That's a 62-year delay by my calculations!

you should get a speed tripple or a busa, go fast enough and picking the bike up will be the last of your worries

Kill switch should be near right hand grip (aka, near the throttle). Often it is red or distintive.

    Is the bike turning over?

I have a friend with a sidecar. I've told her all about you and she wants to know if you're keen to go with her for a spin in it one weekend?

I give this bike 3 days before it has gravel rash.

Give ya $1000 for it........trust me that is a good deal considering it may kill you.
