Youve got it wrong, its a family feud going on between the royals, they have a few teutonic cuzzies! Bernard was a splendid chap and a man of the people. Id like to propose a radical solution, the Duke of Edinburgh for GG, my sort of guy and he redefines total political incorrectness. He is also a Maggie T fan ( unlike his wife who saw her as a competitor ), I like that wonderful quality.

The truth about what though? His original statement wasn't truthful, it was wrong and based purely on an assumption he made based on the colour of the Governor Generals skin.

The Governor General was born and raised here, educated in Glen Innes and has spent his entire life working in the public service as well as contributing to numerous community groups and Rugby League administration. He also speaks with a very heavy Kiwi accent, and from all account is a good bugger.

Whereas Henry was shipped off to England at a young age to be 'educated' went to Drama School and worked for the BBC.

Tell me, why is the Governor General any less a Kiwi than Henry?

I do have a chuckle sometimes when he says some shit. He acts like a school boy on occasion when he just carries on with things for a little too long but that's one of the reasons people watch the show. Hell, you wouldn't watch that show if you hated Henry.

Watch TV3 for god's sake if you have issues! BUT I think it probably did take it a little too far with the Governor General. I thought he was just gonna ask if a kiwi was gonna be selected next and then leave it. But he certainly hammered away at it.

Eh, I think it's the best way for the country to loosen up being too PC. If he keeps saying shit like this we'll get used to it like the good 'ole days.

If you are born in New Zealand and are raised in New Zealand then you are a New Zealander, whether you are second generation Jamaican, third generation English, fifth generation Chinese or tenth generation Maori. What you look like has no bearing on nationality in this big old melting pot where the whole country is founded on immigrants. I understand what Paul Henry was saying, the GG doesn't look like your typical Maori or British descended person, and to a redneck that means they can't be a New Zealander but clearly that is not the case.

Still, he's a funny bloke. I think it was all a wind up to see how John Key would cope and that was an obvious fail. Me, I'd vote for John Tamihere for GG.

It's the politically correct fuckwits who are turning this country into a joke. They want to wrap kids in cotton wool and ban free speech, then they wonder why we feel like we're living in less and less of a democracy by the day.

People getting their knickers in a twist over this is just like someone running to the KB mods every time someone gives them red rep or disagrees with a post. I bet that most of these 'fun police' members don't even have a proper job, so they feel the need to complain about nothing to make themselves feel important.

Having spent plenty of time around racist arseholes I don't find him amusing, and just don't ever watch him.

But I'm not surprised he is liked and defended by the usual suspects on here. Sad to say, NZ is a lot more racist than it likes to pretend.

Edit: And I'm not "PC", I just despise racists, as I've never met one with the intelligence to saying anything useful or entertaining.

Watch who you call racist. The Maoris are the most racist people in NZ, open your eyes and you'll see what I mean.

You will probably find that the same segments of society up in arms over Henry's right to free speech were also demanding Hone to be hung, drawn and quartered over what he said.

+1. He is reason i stopped watching TV1 in the morning while getting ready for work. Now its TV7.

Racism is just one of the things I find distastefull about him. He is generally insulting and just a nasty childish man. I will be pleased to see him gone completely.

My eyes are wide open, thanks. And I have no time for ANY racists, irrespective of ethnicity.

    And btw, oh, the irony.

Actually I agree there is often an imbalance of standards in too many cases. Doesn't make it less racist though, if you ask me. Whether Henry or Hone, it's still no good.

So bearing in mind that there are no 100% full blooded Maori any more, is it the Maori blood or the European blood that causes the high crime rate? Or could it be that people in low socio economic situations are more prone to crime whatever their ethnicity?

Oh and Paul Henry is just an offensive twat. He is one of those that thinks its "edgy" to offend people and that anyone that disagrees with him is being "too PC"

Being an offensive wanker doesn't make you cool or edgy, it just makes you an offensive wanker!

    Moderators note

Please be careful about racist remarks. Calling someone a racist because something they have said or done publicly is acceptable, but being racist yourself, or making outright racist remarks is not acceptable.

I have made one post on this thread as a KB member. I shall make no more, but I shall moderate this thread heavily.

I don't care what Henry thinks or says or how he says what he thinks. He is a tosser. A very short tosser. You just cannot trust short people! Look at polititions, most of them vertically challenged. Henry has not even got talent for TV. I think back to the "This is your life" he did with Lomu. He made a dogs breakfast of it.
