I also learned that the first electric power generated on the Waikato River was at Horahora - plant now submerged beneath the Horahora bridge, evidently. Now I didn't know that!...

I think deep in the recesses of my memory banks, all covered in spiderwebs, is the desiccated husk of a memory about the submerged village beneath Karapiro...might have heard about it way back in the olden days...

I learned something new today dear readers.....that there is a village submerged beneath lake Karapiro......

Old tag ....Blacksmiths shop beneath the swingbridge at Arapuni power station

New one... Small settlement at the base of Maugatautari (I think thats how you spell it!!)

If you have ever been to Arapuni Dam/Swingbridge (where the last tag was) then you should have passed this if you took the fun road.

All day I've been probing my vast knowledge database The Internet And all I've found is
"Maungatautari - 'maunga' meaning mountain and 'tautari' meaning upright rock.” Or floating rock
Am i on the right road ??

Anyone keen for a quick ride in the morning to get this tag? or got the day off work tomorrow and wanna do the Coro loop to place the tag I have a friends beach house to check up on on the way around. It Will be at A good pace if your keen?

I am recovering from a sinus infection and have tomorrow off work as a result. If im good enough to ride then i wouldn't mind joining ya to get the tag. Will have to say no thanks on the coro loop though! Maybe when i get a more sportier bike....
