Don't want to be a party pooper, but went up Te Onapoo Rd today for a looksee, and noticed that the top end of the hill climb track has just been sealed in the last 2 or 3 weeks, still under 30km road works for the top 1/3 rd to the finish line. hope it is not a hot day... next Sunday.

Hi guys. Sorry, this is not a w/e ride. I put this up as a HB ride but got smacked on my fingers as I had already started the whole White Ribbon Ride as a separate thread. Suppose you could consider that a violation against netiquette if you were wanting to...
Anyhow, would love to see some HB riders participating here. Join in at any stage, ride for as long as you want. The HB leg goes from Waipukurau to Wairoa on 23 November.

Hope to see lots of people out there and lets hope for some fine weather.
Prior to Christmas around the Hasting District, there will be a tidy up of any outstanding road failures. So look out for repair sites and speed restrictions on:
- Taihape Rd from Pukehaumoamoa to the forestry headquarters
- Crownthorpe Settlement Rd at the Crownthorpe end
- Waitara Rd sealed section from the SH to Glen Falls
- Middle Rd in isolated sections
- Seafield in isolated sections
- Puketitiri Rd in isolated sections
Also as you are aware we have experienced bleeding seals. Where ever grit has been placed, there will be signs. Again Taihape Rd at Crownthorpe School and up near the foresty Headquarters has been identified as problem areas.
Apologies for the inconveniences , take care out there all.
Thanks for the update/s
On the issue of bleed, repairs and signs...
The Taupo Eastern Arterial has been open, what? 2 months? Great swathes of it have no chip and tar bleed is evident all over the place. Nothing to do with here, of course, but if new roads are so poor....
Also, on SH5, contractors are spreading grit/chip on tar bleed areas, without signage.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
