Fuck it bro, if you're not fighting for a championship, what's the point in over riding it? Better to go out and have fun. You carved through the pack from a comparitively average start position (for you). Couple of thirds, a fun day and a shiney bike at the end of it is nothing to be sneezed at. Just do some mean wheelies next time will ya?

Was watching online (great coverage by speedbox too).
Hows Hayden, was he injured in that race 2 1st corner incident?
Well done to all the riders and organisers![]()
Andrew was riding for a championship too which is why his rides were calculated, why he wasnt circulating at his lap record pace and why he settled for high placings rather than an outright win. Like most of the seasoned competitors he knows only too damn well that the street circuits are very dangerous and he is therefore averse to sticking his kneck out too far. If we look forward to Paeroa I think you will see fewer top competitors there given the real safety issues.
Congratulations to everyone for competing. Also congratulations to all CKT customers including the 3 major Tri Series championship winners and major placegetters , Andrew Stroud, Sloan Frost,Glen Skatchill, Denis Charlett, Terry Fitzgerald, Geoff Booth, Daniel Kempthorne etc etc
Dont count out Craig being a fierce competitor at the Nationals. And best wishes to Robbie for a speedy recovery having been the innocent victim of a silly accident.
Thats right, Stauffers performance owes more to his undoubted and well proven abilities and willingness to take it right to the very edge. By comparison the Canadian guy on a similiar bike was mid-pack. If they were racing on a succession of national circuits with higher speed loads and more tyre stress then any shortcomings would be more readily apparent.
F3 was another case in point, Scott Moir really shone on a powerful little bike with near stock suspension ( he had rejected modified stock suspension built by someone else because it was simply terrible ) He rode the absolute wheels off it on a basically point squirt circuit and congrats to him! But the limitations of that bike will be apparent at closed course circuits unless the suspension gets sorted.

MY BAD, I thought I heard the announcer say that he had Broken the lap record. Still, not bad for Dan and Nick cole to both do 49.3 on standard front end modifications. A hell of a lot cheaper than after market complete internal modifications, ( And is built in New Zealand by NZ Workers keeping them employed) and there would NOT be an every day road rider out there who could use this set up to the limits they pushed it too.

Interesting reading, I like the Tri Series formula. Basically your only restricted by the engine size you have. There is no talk about bikes being illigal etc, there is no real sign of check book racing. Maybe if the nats were the same rules then people would be more inclined to invest in high priced items like forks etc but its good to see modified suspenders vs aftermarket suspenders, standard engines vs built engines. Its up to people where they spend there limited funds and the results all pan out pretty even some suit some tracks better then others
