Going to look at the gearing...any tips?
I'd like to bin the GN 250 carb....I hate CV carbs ( former BMW airhead owner)....need a 28 mm Dellorto.
12 front 48 rear and a honda XR 500 carb sounds mad but with some setting up they work very well ...CV carbs are rubbish .Thats if you have a FXR..

    I'm a fellow CV hater.

R.E. Gearing, Low is good, ratios are closer together at top of box so better to be ising say 4th 5th and 6th on a kart track rather than 2nd,3rd and kind of but not really 4th or whatever.

I ran one of the OKO PWK Keihin knock offs that Stu Hines is selling for the first time on the weekend, and loaned a GN carb to Captain Soup, who had been running the stocker. At the end of the day he was about to start looking for a GN carb, then he took my bike out and I think he may have changed his mind.
I still need to sort out the throttle cable / body combination to sort out the 1/4 turn of cable slack but the OKO is so much better off the bottom out of corners that I'll live with that if I have to. Need to pull the plug and see if I can go to a smaller main since it seems to go a bit flat up top but still way better all round than than the GN carb, probably pulling an extra 1000 RPM at my breaking point down the straight than I was, close to the limiter in 4th, traffic permitting.
