Right - that settles it amicably and inexpensively. Next WNR, possibly at Tai Tap pub or wherever we end up, Peeteey will give us a demonstration of his Morris dancing routines...![]()
Provided he passes muster, I'll buy him a lemonade or perhaps a cider would be more approriate...![]()
So what was the final verdict? Were we all in the same place at the same time?
That really is very funny!
So Tai Tap pub next week then? Meeting there at 6?
I'll be in the bar wearing a plaid suit with a rose in the top pocket and a copy of a 1965 NZ Herald under my right arm.
The password shall be "for fucks sake, THERE you are!"![]()
There's a chance I can't be there next week anyhoo, was supposed to be recording a CD today and tomorrow but which clever genius do you think managed to slice his one very important finger on some broken glass?
So, all going well, I may be doing that next Wed. I'll try to do both if I can!

Actually, it's also somewhat my fault - due to being held up by traffic I got there around 6:20, but I took a quick look around the parking lot and couldn't see any bikes anywhere, so I figured either I was too late, and you lot must had all arrived and gone off on a ride already, so I took a quick ride about some of the nearby streets, and swung back by about 10 minutes later just in case I was the first, and still seeing no bikes, decided I must have arrived too late and started to head home. I then saw a few other bikes headed in the other direction and headed back, where I found KiwiPhoenix and BikeeChick just arriving.
Anywho, I have no idea how you managed to hide your bike so well, but I must have come by for the first time while you were there.
Sounds good to me, although I believe a carnation is more traditional.![]()

Getting in and out of Moorhouse ave is a bit of a mission, I think BK might be better avoided for a while yet.
Just over the bridge from where KP suggested is a rather large car park, I imagine it's probably pretty empty once bunnings etc close. Of course there is a pub at the other side of said carpark, so it may be tempting not to bother with the ride at all.....

I thought I saw you ride past the window! I was on the dirt bike and it was parked right by the front door between two cars. I had an entire park to myself and made sure of it so others could share the park but you wouldn't see it unless you were right there as the cars on either side were people movers ...

Traffic around 4:30 to 6:30 is heavy just about everywhere at the moment given all of the lane restrictions, sink holes in the roads, silt piles and detours etc.
With all the stress and inconvenience that people are already enduring, I think that a group of bikes carving up congested traffic queues is a really bad idea anywhere at the moment (even though it's a sh*t load of fun in normal times).I suggest that we ride individually to a prearranged rendezvous at some place where there are no queues after we depart en-masse. For example, Monteiths Rangiora at 6-15ish was fine for almost everyone last WNR
At the South east, Halswell Vet is a common rendezvous for organized rides...

Halswell is a fairly short ride from BK, so taking into account the heightened traffic and worse roads, a 6:30 rendezvous should be plenty of time, shouldn't it?
Also since we're not really riding anywhere, just down the road, we could leave at 6:45, and anyone that couldn't make it earlier or wants to take a different route could meet us at the pub at about 7.
Anyway, I'm definitely all for meeting somewhere a little further from the center of town - getting in to the BK the Wednesday before the earthquake was already ridiculous for some reason, with traffic backed up the entire length of Blenheim rd, and I had to split and filter like crazy the whole way just to arrive before you guys left, so with the earthquake induced traffic, it'd definitely be nice to avoid the heavier traffic zones.
