    Social payback

    What's the rules?

    Someone comes to stay.
What are they supposed to pay?

May the bridges I burn light the way.

    Thumbs up

Depends depends depends. If they (the people you are staying with) look poorhouse, then bring meat for dinner and slip $20 in the knife and fork drawer just before you say your goodbyes. Guest brings the weed as well.

Can depend too on how the stay was initiated:

    A) Can we come and stay with you?

    B) Go on, come and stay with us for a bit

BYO booze and some for the person you're staying with. Unless you're a mate, then it's free so long as you know the favour will be repaid!

Yeah pretty much eh. If the host is cooking dinner/breakie etc then I'd be inclined to buy extra bourbons as shit.

If it's a real friend there shouldn't be rules unless you're a woman. If you need something then "Buy me a box of beers cunt" works wonders.

No booze, then offer to do the dishes or something.

If you are invited to dinner, bring a good cheerful attitude and maybe a story to tell. Wine or flowers are optional but nice.

If staying a day or two, don't say "is there anything I can do?" Just go and do it: wash up or load/unload the dishwasher, take out the rubbish, etc.

If you stay for a week, you should take your hosts out for dinner.

There are some suggestions Hope that helps.

Ya need to be a bit more specific.

Many many different situations with different obligations.

Hitting the piss a bit hard and the home owner says 'you'd better stay' - no payment other than cleaning up your own vomit.

Planning a piss-up and planning to stay overnight - be a good bugger and take some decent nibbles and maybe something nice for breakfast.

Staying with friends for the weekend - I'd expect to pay my way somehow - nice wine or desert or something along thoses lines - ie shout them something for being good bastards.

    etc etc
