Why's it taking so long to source one?
I'm getting a Shorai lithium battery through Edbear, which is coming from the US.
I want to get away from the standard type battery, as Triumph in their wisdom, left only enough space for an under-powered YTX12-BS. Should've been the YTX14-BS like the 955's before mine.
1050's have a habit of destroying sprag clutches, due to poor cranking and that's about a $1000 repair. Don't want to go there![]()
Nunquam Non Paratus
I've heard of this problemHappened to a chap I know in Masterton, he wasn't pleased.
Went to Marton last night, just to ride for the sake of riding. Was a nice wee tootleI found the bike will show just over 190km/h on the limiter in fourth, of course I did this in perfectly controlled conditions, on a race track whilst producing no exhaust emissions.
Will be strolling over to Eketahuna today, I have to give my old man a lift home from Wellington tomorrow.
So sympathise for me as I will be driving a Corolla.....![]()
On the plus side, the ride there and back gives me more time to work on being smooth and getting that throttle control spot on.
More fun than a barrel full of monkeys! Awesome headlight too![]()

It's only Rock and Roll but I like it
Good stuff!
Cunning plan
Got a plan for some carpark training as per Lee Parks Total Control book:
Throttle/brake roll on/off
Quick stops
Transitions/turn in accel out (3 circles 12m diameter, 18m center distance)
Low speed u-turns
Slalom from BHS test (3.5m apart with an offset of 0.5m from the center)
Might give massey RFM an email to see what they reckon, maybe next weekend weather permitting...
