thats exactly my point, you have an accident, you call the cops, and see about fixing the issue, or getting a tow, you dont just say meh who cares and go get pissed, leaving potentially dangerous debris littering the area in the dark!

And if he had called the popo anyway, it would have been quite different I imagine. I guess I am just very sceptical of the accuracy of the OP's post.

If my bike 'spontaneously disintegrated' in the dark, I wouldnt fuck off and get pissed, without consideration for what carnage the remaining debris strewn around the area might cause for other vehicles in the vicinity.
I would at least, in the circimstance described in the first post call a tow truck.

Sounds like what he means is it came adrift, i.e something wasnt right, and "off it came" as in he took it off to investigate/fix it.

Dunno some fucker in Dunedin has caused a shit stir with the cops because last night they outran them doing 200km + ... So all day today bikes have been getting pulled up willy nilly and getting questioned as to their whereabouts, and background checks of the rider and bike.

Besides, Its QLD police, they are probably drunker than you are.
