Dunno. They can change the linings and cheek pads perhaps - but they do have different shells for different region's mellons I'm told.

I have purchased Arais from several continents and they all fit exactly the same.

I have now seen the light and started wearing SHOEI

Also never buy toner unless it has the correct seal! God forbid you buy them cheap from cartridge world!

in my research after my utter shafting (see p1) it turns out that NZ gets Euro spec Arai, and Aussie gets Asia-spec. (or something: it might be US vs Europe perhaps) I'm not sure the shells are different shapes or constructions, but the lining foam is. So if you have a "long oval" head (think Alien) then one fits, whereas if you have a round head (Eric Cartman) the other fits.

FRom memory thats why my helmet is badged as a blah model, whereas the equivalent in NZ (bottom of the range) was the bleurgh model. Corser vs Chaser or something. I don't and didnt care because all I wanted was the paintscheme.

In fact I think I read what the differenences are on this very site. can I find it now? shit no.

When I was buying my Arai it became apparent that different models are made for different headshapes. There were models with at least two of the different head shapes on sale in this country.

You can't just buy an Arai by the paint job, you need to know which head shape it is, and which you head shape you need.

Unless you've really done your homework, buying an Arai without trying it on would be risky. At that money, too risky for me thanks.

I'd never buy a lid from Oz. There prices are the same as ours which is just plain nuts. I suppose it shows you how good we are with prices for lids here for our smaller market (or how shafted the Aussies are getting?).

I looked at buying a Shoei from the states because they didn't have the one I wanted. I wasn't sure if it was a different shell or not though (XR1100 vs RF1100). Now wifey is humming and haring about getting an 1100 when she gets the coin. They only have a blue one in NZ that she like but "will like naff with my pink gear". Woman!

I'd probably look at Riders Discount if I did go through the states. I've heard only top things.

Unfortunately you will have to make it a non-Shoei lid

However my Arai Vector was sold to me at a discounted price because of the inconvenience. Pretty stroked at the price I paid.

They look good Matt, I wonder why they are so cheap are they discontinued models?

Anyway, if you haven't already seen the reviews of these lids at webbikeworld I suggest that will help you narrow down your decision and more importantly get an idea of the head shape.

I brought a Sinister (Red) back from the states for a mate... it's not as cool as the pictures make out Still cool, just be aware it looks better in the product shots.
