is it open to full license holders - considering the crap weather lately I haven't really had time to get much road time anyway, and my "off road" experience would still put me in the learner league surely

I'm in Kerikeri and would like to come along for the ride up to the cape on Saturday. won't be staying - just up to play and back home that night.

Sure, keeping in mind this is a learner ride and will be treated as such every Km of the way.
If there are those that want to go on ahead at any point then thats ok.
As long as I know what is going I wont have a problem.

A few full license holders in the pack will help no end...
As it stands we have probably 3-4 (on thier full) attending.
If the group gets too big I have two options..
Split into two groups or limit the amount that attends.
There are a few ''maybes'' at this stage but I will keep an eye on the numbers.

Whilst I won't be riding up from Auckland with the group I am planning on dropping in for some socialising on the Friday and Saturday nights, plus I'll tag along for the trip up to the Cape and back as well.

Nice to have you all coming up to the part of NZ that I now inhabit.

Yeah, the light tends to come on around the 120km mark, if taking it easy I'll get 150ish - probably 180 including reserve.

Meant to be a 18L tank, it takes about 10-12L when the light comes on. I always fuel up cause I'm not pushing it and I sure as shit ain't leaving it on the side of the road in Northland while I go get fuel......lol

Need to know fuel stops...little scorpios need juice as often as you be the sounds?

can we ride up or down 90 mile beach, that's a lot of fun, and its pretty safe / easy for learners if we keep the speeds down

That dosn't sound right. Have you ever run it out of gas completly(carry a 4l can of gas) then fill it to the top. On the shadow I can get about 5l in if I let the tank settle once it's full.(breather hole too small) Has the bike been droped and the tank is dented and just boged up.
