I like this one. I had an old slipper lying around for ages, just one. It got thrown away about a couple of months ago, why would we need one right slipper, with good all weather sole and sheepskin uppers that can be split and some laces attached to lace it on

You get used to it very quickly I can assure you, you dont get a choice. I have referred myself to physio early to get some excercises on board for strength before the plaster comes off. I am also pushing myself to weight bear (supported by crutches) to get some calf muscle stimulated.

The advice from a very talented sports physio is dont worry about pain, there are drugs for that, but if it is keeping you awake at night you have taken it too far So far so good and just quietly, I managed to "walk" on it unsupported for a few steps last night

Plastic bag + ductape. Maybe two.
If you wanna waterproof the entire cast, maybe one of the bigger rubbish bags?

A few strips of self adhesive velcro, the hooky side, stuck to your sole. Cut some felt, old carpet etc to size, stick to velcro for a sole.

Just talked to Maha and Mom on the phone......

They are sitting in the stunning accommodation with the Doubtless Bay waters lapping gently 30 metres away, beers and rum to hand watching a (typical) Northland sunset in action!

Now they know why I now live up here. Joining them tomorrow afternoon.

And according to the article Pukenui, the only other station between the cape and Awanui, is closing later this month.

That leaves a round trip of a little under 210km between fills.

    This place is wonderful!

Was woken up this morning so I could watch a big pod of dolphins playing in the bay.

We have done a reccy of the entire place and counted beds etc and the managers have come up with an all inclusive price of $150 per person for the weekend. This includes 2 cooked breakfasts, a BBQ Friday night and a hangi Saturday night.

    Irene has been menu planning this afternoon and has come up with;

BBQ - steak, sausages coleslaw, salads (3) spuds and garlic bread.

Hangi - Pork, mutton, chicken and pigs feet Spuds, pumpkin, kumera, cabage.

Breakfasts - Bacon, sausages, eggs, toast and choice of spag or baked beans. You can have cereal as well if you can fit it in

Although she reserves the right to make adjustments to it

Maha will give a run down of bed configurations, but there are enough beds here for everyone who wants one.

Just one note of warning for anyone on crutches on the weekend. Do not consume a skin full of wine and attempt to get up a flight of stairs You will crash and burn DAMHIK
