The fight is getting a bit cool soo.....

IF it is a stop where the popo are stopping mixed classes of traffic then some of the other arguments hold water BUT if they are stopping only bikes then it is a different story and is real annoying when you aren't doing anything wrong.

Being stopped is an annoyance. Different people react differently otherwise the world get boring. Being stopped just because you are on a bike is extremely annoying. Often the bit that is missing is that the some of the popo don't like to explain why they stopped you, they just want obedience.
How is it any different from getting stopped just because your car has alloys, or just because it's a turbo?

Everyone seems to think it's sweet for the cops to target potential "boy-racers" or any other group for that matter, as long as it's not them.

Grow up, keep legal and stop complaining. In case you haven't noticed, the world IS NOT FAIR.

    Oh well, thats life.

Good on the cops for giving free stuff away.Ive always liked the carrot is better than the stick approach, and this is not a reference to the bizarre sexual practices of Honda riders. What goes on in the paddocks south of the Bombays is no business of mine!....Ill just sit back now and wait for an unlicenced rider on a unwarranted bike to start a thread about popos waisting taxpayers money.

thats a good question why aint the cops doing "Maori blitz's"??? after all if picking on 1 group of road users ins't discrimination, then surely picking on 1 ethnic group isn't either.

Interesting. If you listen to Pita Sharples and Meteria Turei the Popos already DO pick on Maori disproportionately.

Interesting point you raise Skoober. If a minority is targeted because they are a problem they often cry discrimination. Never mind the problem they are targeted for.

I'll have one with your name on it. PM me if you're serious. I'll wait behind a bush with a ticket book and a smile.

Well yes but that's a bit of a dangerous line of thinking to start down as a general statement.

How do you know that J Bloggs walking down the street isn't carrying a gun. Or that they are not an over-stayer. Or that they are not the subject of an arrest warrant. Or that they are not downloading copyright material :-)

It's a fine line the powers that be have to tread, between stopping people who are breaking laws from doing so, and not walking down a "papers please" path.

They'd have to get some nicer uniforms before they started that!

Oh I don't know, the tall blonde Policewoman I waited next to at Subway once was gorgeous and it wouldn't matter what she was wearing! She even smiled at me!

Her short male partner wasn't quite as nice, he sorta nodded, but then maybe he was a bit insecure standing next to her...

Well I was heading somewhere else with that post, based more on the "papers please" comment - but we could combine the two....
