thats a good question why aint the cops doing "Maori blitz's"??? after all if picking on 1 group of road users ins't discrimination, then surely picking on 1 ethnic group isn't either.

And wore 'proper' (not my usual fingerless) gloves all weekend (bloody cold in Central it was) so do I get one, do I, do I, huh do I?

Got pulled over yesterday for a routine check, the officer goes through all the checks and tells me that they have a campaign against bikers without the right license. He pauses for a second than says "i have a present for you". All im thinking is . He goes to the back seat of his car and pulls out a duffel bag with a tyre gauge and a CD on knowing your bike says have a good day and drives off

That has to be the most random police stop i've experienced. So i just wanted to let you know (if you don't already) that they're cracking down even more on bikers and if you have any more random police encounters than feel free to share.

Don't be fooled: The tyre gauge is most probably the antenna for a remotely controlled video surveillance device. Since the passing of the Video Surveillance Bill (temporary) by Parliament, police have been deploying the devices, under the guise of friendly acts, in order to monitor biker activity.

I urge you to destroy the device in the interests of the freedom of motorcycling everywhere.

Out of interest, I have 40 of those bags in my locker at work. At some stage my team will be stopping and checking bikers' licences, and giving the bags out. The bags will only go to those wearing good gloves, good bike pants, decent footwear, a good jacket, a good helmet, riding legally and not like a dick. Not copping a 'you're picking on me, discrimination blah blah blah' is also a prerequisite.

So being compliant with the laws of the land isn't good enough? Luckily the bags sound like shit anyway.
