    Paretai Camp - December 10/11

    Hi all,

I went up to Paretai today to check the place out and familiarise myself with how to turn the fridge, hot water, dishwasher etc on....and wow, what a beautiful place!

Took my breathe away, so tranquil and peaceful. Well it will be until you lot arrive.

Only issue I can see is that there are chickens and a couple of roosters roaming around the place and apparently the rooster crows at sunrise..eeek!!!

There are a couple of neighbours up there and one of them, lovely man, keeps an eye on the place and has requested that could we please turn stereos down after midnight.

The sleeping areas are pretty neat, couple of rooms upstairs and two long dorm type areas and another room downstairs in the main hall/kitchen area.

The best part was the "shelter". Awesome for out door evening drinking with an outdoor fire for which i'll need to get a permit, apparently that is no issue.

All in all a pretty fantastic place with it's lovely steps leading down to our very own private swimming hole...hehe, midnight swimming!

Some have asked what to bring...sleeping bag, personal items, food, beverages. There is a pub just down the road so I don't think you need to travel with your liquid refreshments and there is also a supermarket 5 mins down the road.

Awesome place to have a gathering so a big thanks to whom ever it was that suggested this place and things in motion.

Right I'm off to get some ride time in, I'm so out of practice and my confidence is a little eroded. Take care all of you and see/meet you soonish.

you can't kill chickens, well, you kinda can, like she won't mind, they are annoying.....but if you can catch me a couple I'd be mighty appreciative. I'd like a couple at home, nice fresh eggs. Three would do quite nicely.

Right, there's a challenge, see who can catch me three chickens and I'll give you a prize!!
