The last time I was at bannockburn, which was admittedly a while ago, there were a number of permanent residents living there. They may get a bit miffed if things get a bit noisy.
Riding cheap crappy old bikes badly since 1987

None are in sight of the camp. Most over a ridge. None were there prior to the camp (the old school) being there.

I took a trip through to Bannockburn today ... took a few pics in the area.

    1: The camp buildings.
2: About one km of well packed gravel to the gate.
    3: The gate.
4: The start of the gravel ... (Nevis rd)
5: The view frm NEAR the top.
6: A side track off the main track is a common sight in the Nevis road area. Where they end up ... ???

looks good, but I would not have mentioned the gravel, because you know how soft some of these riders are.

It's OK ... riders have crashed in the Waikato on tarseal ... You would have no problems on your bike on it ... and it's downhill going away from the camp.
