not 100 percent sure of location but i definetly recognise a couple of features and they checkout on SV.Triangulation not conclusive as to actual position .

And here I was thinking that that big green roofed building would be immediately recognised by people... I do expect a bit of triangulation and exploration will be required to find the spot where I took the pic from once you have sussed the green building.

ahhh right on one of my lines,but i discounted that as i didnt think it would have that old white fence up there.

and herein is the rub with this game.Typical wellington in that many views are sorta "new",and quite often (esp if zoom is used) distances are forshortened and whilst the view may SEEM familiar the forshortening makes thing seem unfamiliar.Zooming in can sometimes help but quite often there is not the resolution to get thefiner detail.The items that confirmed it for me waas the two Johnville mall signs and the ami building (and big yellow sign) on the corner.Alex moore park seems to be not where you expect and the swimming pool doesnt seem to be in the right place either(see above)

Have you worked out where the nearest mile/KM marker is? this has got me stumped

List 9

1 - A Town Hall building
2 - A peice/peices of metal sculpture/art - not the cast statue type.
3 - A mile/KM marker for 100 or a multipule there of.
4 - A Dam.
5 - A car from before 1970.

i told/asked him about mile markers.We dont have the kind of thing he is talking about so i asked him if he would accept a uneven one(say PALMERSTON NTH 126km but i have nt seen a reply.The other tricky one for me is a pre 70s car.That may not be a problem for you going by your avatar!

now here is a typical scenario!The skyline at Porirua and Titahi Bay have those strange spindly trees,but i coulda sworn that this was the skyline of Tinakori Hill now tha they have cut a lot of the old pines out.maybe viewd from the cable car....how wrong!

its quite funny seeing places i know. seeing as i used to live in wellington up until 3 months ago. came down to chch to do demolition work
