Our strokers have been troublesome but not expensive.

My first blow up cost a piston but after a hone I was able to re use the cylinder.
This one, well I freed the ring, cleaned the piston up, put it back together using all the old parts and started it up tonight no problems.
I will get to see how it goes on the dyno tomorrow night. It might be down on power a little but hey, it was a cheap fix.
A good read on piston rings:- http://americanmusclecarsaustralia.c...d.php?tid=2627
LOL... sorry Rich, not meaning to steel ya thunder
The 350lc was a greymouth effort out of the hairpin wack the taps wide open then lock up, no warning no noise and never really worked out why, bigend had got rather hot before ka boom so thinking it was a bit worn out down there, or thinking about it I remember a partly blocked jet.
Funny you should mention Warwick, IIRC I was on his ares when it droped a valve, Im thinking he was worried I was about to swing on past him so he did some kinda voo doo mo me... tell ya what tho. finished the race and it was still running back in the pits, only Honda aye![]()
cheers DD
(Definately Dodgy)
After many moons and a few dollars it lives again. Better faster stronger.
Dear God it looks like Frankenstein with all those welds around the engine. Good job.
Ahhh I see. I was wondering who could have pulled off welds on that shitty cast stuff. You're right it will kick some ass, but not all.
